Jalen's POV
WHAT?! THE HECK?! JUST?! HAPPENED?!?! "Yes father" Erin said. "Charlie will be transferring into UA's class 1A next week and I expect the two of you to spend time together and get acquainted before the wedding which will be after you two graduate in three years" he said, "as for the engagement ring, it will be delivered to our house tomorrow and I expect you to wear it at all times, is that clear?" "Yes father" Erin said. "And tomorrow you will be assigned a bodyguard to watch over you 24/7" he said. "Yes father" Erin said. "That is all" he said before walking out. As soon as he walked out Erin burst into tears. I walked over to her, sat down, and hugged her. "You okay?" I asked even though I already knew the answer. "No, but I should have expected this" she said in between sobs. "What do you mean?" I asked. "My father has been trying to get me marry a bunch of other guys" she said, "and he's been trying to convince me to accept the bodyguard thing for like ever." "But why was he trying to push the arranged marriage thing so hard" I asked. "Well, in my family, fathers always choose their daughters husbands and its always been that way" she said. "But why did he decide that you should get married so suddenly?" I asked. "I guess with today's incident, he just decided to make it official, and it's most likely the same thing for the bodyguard thing too" she said. "Hey," I said as I sat her up, wiped her tears away with my hand, and looked at her, "are you free to leave?" "Yes, why?" she said looking up at me. "Would you maybe want to go somewhere to get your mind off of this whole engagement thing?" I asked. "Definitely" she said with a big, adorable smile.
