Evening before Halloween;

Frank and I decided to skip the convention and walk through the pumpkin patch together. After all the drama between us, we just wanted to do something calm. Plus he knew I didn't want to deal with everyone else. The only thing that would make this better is if Annie was here. But she was busy at the cafe, running the convention.

"This one looks pretty big and decently sized." I noted.

"That's what she said." Frank chuckled.

"Frank, you are a middle aged man and you still make those jokes?" I rolled my eyes at his comment.

"I like annoying you. It's adorable." He winked.

I felt the heat rise to my cheeks. I was blushing. Normally a comment like that would annoy me. But somehow I actually began to enjoy Frank's company. I keep mentioning this, because it's honestly shocking to me and even Annie. I don't think she's over it.

"Should we carve one of those tonight?" I questioned.

"Indeed," Frank agreed

"I still hate people." I said. Frank just laughed and shook his head. I took his hand and we headed deeper into the field of pumpkins. There was big ones, small ones, and even baby ones. I was thinking Frank and I could get two big ones, I had an idea."Let's get two big ones, I have an idea,"

"What's that?" Frank was focusing his attention on a pumpkin two small to pick.

"Let's carve each other."

"That might turn out horribly.." Frank replied.

"It's all in good fun." I winked back at him.

Frank blushed, which I thought was slightly cute. He tried to pick up a big pumpkin, but couldn't lift it. I set down my heavy pumpkin and helped Frank put his into his arms. He let out a grunt when I dropped the pumpkin into his arms.

After about 30 minutes of looking around at pumpkins, we decided to call it quits. I was tired of walking around and Frank was getting exhausted holding his gigantic pumpkin. We both wanted to make it quickly back to the cafe. When we arrived, Annie was cleaning up from the convention. I was definitely in the Halloween spirit. One of my favorite things about Halloween is getting excited for Christmas.

"Gerard?" Frank called. He was inside, and his pumpkin was sitting on the table. The cafe was closed for the  night.

"Sorry!" I yelled back. I ran inside,"I got caught up in my thoughts." I set my pumpkin down next to Frank's.

"What were you guy's planning on using the pumpkins for?" Annie asked.

I looked at Frank, and he shrugged. Guess it didn't matter really. In fact, it was odd that I had the idea to carve each other's faces into pumpkins.  "You can whip us up your famous pumpkin pudding n' pie!"

Annie nodded, and I watched her take each pumpkin to the kitchen. Frank threw a pile of paper bats on strings at my face, making me squint. "Frank!" I squealed, picking up the bats. I grabbed a chair from the side and climbed on. I was too short to reach the ceiling. I carefully lifted my arm up towards the first hook on the ceiling, getting the bat on perfectly.

"Be careful, Gee!" Frank's tiny voice piped from down below.
