I knew that little voice anywhere. I grinned. Cassandra was back with us. How she found her way over here, I have no idea. I smiled at her and gave her a hug. I was extremely worried about her safety. It wasn't the fact the I would get in so much trouble with Annie, but the fact that she was so sweet and just an amazing kid. Subconsciously, Annie probably scared me...
"Did you miss me?" She asked Frank and I.
"Of course," Frank replied. He gave her a hug as well.
"Where were you?" I asked.
"I just... wanted to hurry up and get my candy." She said. She shook the huge pillow case in her hand.
I shook my head,"You should stay with us at all times. You had us worried."
Cassandra then attacked Frank and I with hugs. We told her the story and everything that happened. She looked sad and wondered if we were angry with her or not. "I know I snatched my candy away from you but.. have a piece!" She held out her bag. I shook my head no. I wasn't going to take her candy. If I wanted candy I could go buy some myself. I looked at the time on my phone, which read 8:13 p.m. Shit, we were late. I grabbed Cassandra's hand and we hurried back to the cafe.
We arrived a couple of minutes later. We were all panting out of breath. Annie was sitting behind the counter organizing the day's profit from the Halloween party. Everything looked messy and out of order. I thought it ended at 10, but I guess it being a Sunday children had school. "So, who won the costume party?" I asked Annie. That got her attention, and she jumped up and came to where everyone was standing.
"Just a kid.. I forget her name already." Annie chuckled and took Cassandra's hand,"You guys were a couple minutes late, but I can understand I guess. At least Cas is back safely."
"Yeah sorry 'bout that." Frank answered.
"Well I guess we're going?" I turned to Frank, then turned to Annie."Goodbye, Cassandra. Annie. You guys were great tonight. This was an amazing Halloween. I can't wait for next year."
Frank and I left immediately without another word. I was actually upset to see Frank have to leave tonight. For once, I was sad to see someone leave.
"Frank, I'm really gonna miss you. Even though I'll see you tomorrow at the cafe. It won't be Halloween anymore." I hugged him.
"I'll miss you too, Gerard. You've really changed since I came." Frank smirked.
"Don't get your hopes up." I rolled my eyes."Goodnight."
I watched Frank and walked backwards for a while until he disappeared into the darkness. I felt bad he had to walk home. A ding from my phone interrupted my thoughts.

I continued walking and made it a couple streets over. I was trying to walk slow on purpose. I don't even know what my mentality was because I could just text Frank when I got home. He just distracted me that much.
