Elijah POV
The girl strikes me as interesting but I see a shadow around her. I see darkness wherever she goes, a darkness that ruins people. Sure, she's beautiful, has attitude and is everything Katerina once was but there is no way I can ever replace my 1660 love. Amelia is Niklaus's friend, and one that seems loyal, no doubt.
I'm hoping I can change that. I hear her upstairs, blow drying her hair. I knock on the door before using enter.
"Love?" I call out.
She peeks around the bathroom wall. "Oh great," she says, rolling her eyes. "It's you. What do you want?"
She unplugged the drier and put it in a drawer before walking out into the bedroom, arms crossed. It's then that I realized she's only wearing a tank top and shorts. I've never seen so much skin showing, never.
"I'd just like to speak with you, love."
She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "So start talking then, love."
I smirked. She sure does have a sense of humor. "You've heard of the sun and the moon curse, right?"
She sighed and sat down on the edge of her bed. "I'm sure this is going to be long. And to answer your question, yes. What about it?"
I pulled her desk chair up in front of her and sat down. "Elena is the last piece to the curse and Niklaus wants to use her blood to unlink himself. I have intended to kill him before he can."
She just scoffed. "You honestly think you can kill Niklaus?"
I felt a pang of hurt when she said that. It struck me as odd.
"Listen to me before you judge," I say. "Niklaus has done so many wrong things, I think it's his turn to be the one being daggered. I've decided I should be the one to do that and I'm going to need your help, love."
She looked at me like I was crazy. "And why would you need my help?"
"To help save the doppelganger, of course."
She raised her eyebrows. "And how come your asking me and not one of your siblings?"
I sneered at her. How dare she mention my family at this moment. "Because their all dead."
She looked shocked at herself. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean that. I mean, sometimes my mouth just blunts out things-" she took in a deep breath. "What do you want me to do, Elijah?"
I felt confused, obscened. "I don't know. Not yet, at least."
She shook her head. "Is that what you came here to talk to me about, Elijah?"
I took a moment to gather myself before answering her. "Its my job to protect the doppelganger because of a deal I made. I need your help rescuing her tonight, love."
She sighed and looked up into my eyes. "Alright."
I leaned back in shock. "What game are you playing with me?"
She scoffed. "Okay, if you're going to talk to me like that, you can get the hell out. I'm only trying to help out because Niklaus is like a older brother to me and I'd hate to see him get killed for his stupidity."
She took a deep breath at the end of the speech and glared up at me. "Anything else, darling?"
I rolled my eyes, extremely annoyed now. "I'll come get you tomorrow morning when the time is right. For now, don't let Niklaus in on anything. He'll try to dagger me again and I can't have that."
She cocked her head and stared at me for a moment. "You know, for being Niklaus's brother, you sure are a hell of a lot nicer than expected."
I smiled at her comment. It wasn't something I got a lot, especially after they find out all of the killings I've done.
"I'll keep that in mind the next time I want to rip someone's head off," I muttered.
She scoffed and stood up and crossed her arms. "Alright, so what shall I do, Mr. Nice Guy Who Wears A Tux All The Time?"
I chuckled at her nickname and told her exactly what she needed to do. I was going to talk to Rose and then we'd grab the girl. Then while I deal my business with Trevor, she'll take the doppelganger to the car.
"Doesn't sound so bad," she says. "What? No killings involved?"
I smirked. "That's my secret." I turn on my heels and walk out of her room, leaving her alone.
That woman sure had my eye, especially if she was going to be here for a while.

Amelia POV
Half of the ride to Brownsville was completely silent, the other half was filled with 1960's music Elijah had blared. I sighed as we finally pulled up in front of the house were supposed to be retrieving the doppelganger from.
The car ride itself wasn't exhausting, it was thinking of a way to start a conversation with the thousand year old vampire that made it exhausting.
"I have to say, for people that have been running away from your family for a century, they sure didn't pick an underhouse," I said as walked up the steps to the grand mansion.
Elijah chuckled as he knocked on the door.
A beautiful young looking woman opened the door. "Elijah," she breathed. Then she noticed me. "Who is this?"
"None of your business," Elijah half growled. "Let's get on with this unimportant event, shall we?"
Rose narrowed her eyes at me but invited both of us in. Elijah motioned for me to stay near him so I did as told.
"I've called you because Katerina Petrova isn't dead," Rose explained.
Elijah sat in the seat. He stayed silent and waited for her to continue.
"You don't seem surprised by this," Rose says, raising an eyebrow.
"Well, naturally when you called me I had assumed it would have anything to do with Katerina." He waved his hands about, smirking.
Evil little bastard, I thought to myself.
My phone started buzzing in my pocket, and since Elijah wasn't paying attention, I answered it.
"I need your help," Niklaus says on the other line. "I'm sort of trapped and can't get out."
"What'd you do this time, Nik?"
He sighed. "Hayley was trapped and I went to save her and the Strix ended up catching me."
I immediately hung up on him. "Elijah?" I called out.
He looked over at me, raising his eyebrows.
"We have a teeny problem," I said, explaining the situation Niklaus was in.
Elijah sighed. "Let's get the doppelganger and go save my idiotic brother, shall we?"
We followed Rose to a secluded room and there I saw the girl who reminded me of the bitch I hate.
"Hello, Elijah," A man said from underneath the stairs.
I recognize that voice. Trevor. An old friend of mine, a very old friend.
"Good evening," Elijah answered calmly. His eyes sifted to the Petrova doppelganger... and stayed there. Suddenly he was in front of her. She jumped back, gasping.
He leaned down and sniffed her neck. "Human," he whispered. "Impossible." He grabbed her arm. "We've got a long trip ahead of us, might as well get going."
"Please don't let him take me!" The doppelganger called out to Rose.
Rose hung her head down in shame.
Elijah let go of the doppelganger. "One more piece of business, then we'll go."
He stalked over to Trevor. I knew exactly what's going to happen. And I won't let it happen.
I flashed in front of Trevor. "Elijah, you don't have to do this."
Elijah clasped his hands together. "Amelia, move. And don't make me repeat myself."
I closed my eyes briefly before sidestepping away from Trevor. Rose gave me a longing look but I looked away.
"I'm really sorry, Elijah," Trevor stated. "I really am."
Elijah sighed. "Understood. Unfortunately, your life is your debt that you owe me, young vampire." And before anyone could realize what Elijah was doing, Trevor's head was ripped ear off his shoulders.
Elena, the doppelganger, gasped and held her hands over her mouth. Rose looked like she was going to attack Elijah until he held his hands up.
"Don't," Elijah simply stated. "Now that your have your freedom."
I didn't bother waiting for him or worried by the fact that he'd get pissed off, I super sped tithe car and waited for him.
It was about twenty minutes later when two males and Elena came walking out. I definitely knew they weren't with Elijah.
"What did you do?" I asked them, stepping out of the car.
All three turned to me. "Who the hell are you?" The raven haired blue eyes male asked.
I rolled my eyes. "I am no threat to you and your doppelganger. I'm a prisoner just as much as she is."
Both by exchanged a glance before shrugging.
The raven haired boy smirked. "I killed him."
I narrowed my eyes. It's nearly impossible to kill an Original, unless you have a White Oak stake.
"Bloody hell," I muttered.
"Excuse me?" The blonde haired boy asked.
Now I smirk. "Nothing, darling. Now why don't you go on your way before I rip your miserable head off? Do you have any idea how pissed Niklaus is going to be at you two?"
Both of them exchanged glances.
"Both of you get out of here. And take the doppelganger, she's annoying."
The whizzed away, one of them carrying Elena so they could vampire speed out of here.
I went inside the mansion to look for Elijah. It took me a few moments, but I found him pinned against the wall, a piece of wood sticking out of his chest.
I rolled my eyes. "How idiotic can newborn vampires be?" I asked myself as I yanked the wood out of Elijah's chest. He resurfaced immediately.
"What happened?" He growled, wiping off his suit.
"Two baby vampires attacked you in attempt to save their precious doppelganger. Don't worry, I've got a plan to get her back."
Elijah fixed his tie. "Let's get cleaned up and have a bite to eat first, no?"
I shrugged. "That's fine with me. Haven't eaten anything since I was woken."

"Now tell me this plan of yours, " Elijah said as we drove the car back to Mystic Falls. Naturally we could have ran, but we have two humans in the back seat compelled for dinner for Niklaus. He'd want to know what we were doing all day.
I got comfortable in my seat and began.
"Clearly the two baby vampires are fond of the doppelganger, so an alternative can be suggested. I say we get invited into the house and make a move from their. I'm suggesting a deal of some sort?"
Elijah looked over at me and smirked. "You are one smart cookie, love."
I rolled my eyes. "I've been around for nearly a thousand years. What can I say? "

When we got back to the mansion, chaos was spread everywhere. Turns out a vampire coven lead by a vampire named Marcel wanted to kill Niklaus but ended up linked to Nik instead. I escaped quickly after that.
Man, if Nik ever found out I was helping Elijah succeed in a plan to kill him, he'd have my head off. I surely hope Elijah doesn't rip my head off from being loyal to Nik. That'd be a waste of a thousand years.
Maybe, just maybe, I can sneak out of this deal. I am friends with Esther after all...
