Amelia POV
It was a joy, being in a relationship with Elijah Mikaelson. He's romantic, kind, sweet, caring and amazingly beautiful. I don't know what I did to deserve his love, but I feel really special. He makes me feel like home isn't so far away, like it's within the vicinity of my hands.
Niklaus wasn't too happy when we first started dating, but he eventually got used to it. Everyone else minded their own business, besides Kol, of course.
Elijah and I have been together for nearly a year now. It's crazy to think that, but it's true. Tristain fled New Orleans after the threats Niklaus placed upon him. Marcel's army has gone down, numbering at only fifty vampires now. The other fifty spread off across the world, taking their chance at freedom.
Hayley is still with us, along with Hope and Jackson. Kol and Davina have taken a few turns and became a couple. Niklaus and Camille are hitting it off. Lucien has been dead for four months. Freya has added to the family, making things a little interesting.
"Maybe he's delusional," Freya was saying at this moment. "He hasn't been in his right stated of mind for nearly eleven years, Finn."
The whole Mikaelson family was arguing while I sat here, listening to their bickering. Hayley was fixing dinner for Hope in the kitchen and Jackson had to deal with some werewolf business with his pack.
"I'm just saying," Finn defended.
"You always just say things," Rebekah noted, picking at her perfectly polished nails.
"It's my specialty," Finn replied. "It always has been."
"Like Elijah's is to be a nobleman?" Kol asked with a slight smirk.
Elijah sent a tiny glare his way and I snickered a little bit.
"Maybe we should look at this from a different angle," Niklaus suggested, seeming very frustrated.
This family tended to bicker a little too much for my taste, and I can tell he wasn't patient with this conversation.
"And what do you suggest?" Finn asked, his voice holding a hint of suspicion.
I rolled my eyes at the oldest brother. He was annoyed and definitely nosey. He doesn't keep to himself, especially when it comes to relationships not dealing with himself.
"I'm getting kind of sick of listening to your guises bickering," Hayley commented, walking out of the kitchen.
I chuckled along side Hayley, Jackson and Niklaus. Elijah gave me a dirty look and my eyes widened. He's never given me a dirty look. Ever.
Niklaus seemed to realize this and growled. "Don't give her a dirty look just because you're not getting your way, Elijah!" He snapped, his hybrid eyes glowing.
I couldn't help but be confused by all of this abnormal behavior by all of these thousand year old vampires. They've never acted like this before, and it's making me nervous.
"I wasn't giving her a dirty look!" Elijah complained, sounding really childish with the way he used his tone.
I honestly didn't know what's going on, I was way past confused.
Suddenly I heard a door slam, a scream and everything went totally black. My eyes snap open, meeting with the bright sun. I groan and stuff a pillow to my face, but then everything comes rushing back. I sit up really fast.
I'm in Elijah's room. Elijah is sleeping next to me, snoring softly.. I sigh, realizing it was a nightmare.
"Your pron to have nightmares when your sleeping at night," Freya had told me a long time ago.
I run my hand through my dark brown curls, sighing again. I was too busy wrapped up in my thoughts, I didn't even realize Elijah had woken up.
"Bad dream?" He asked, yawning.
I nod, stretching out my vampire limbs. "It wasn't so bad last night," I say.
Elijah gives me that look that says he doesn't believe me, but I ignore it and go to the bathroom. I take a quick shower and get dressed. When I walked out, Elijah was no where to be seen. I headed downstairs. feeling very tired.
Vampires don't need sleep, but its nice when you get sleep.
"Elijah?" I called out as I walked into the kitchen.
"I know I'm the only that drinks milk in this house," Hayley was saying. "But it couldn't hurt to put it on the grocery list every once in a while."
Rebekah walked in, throwing gloves in the trash can. "Put bleach on the list, too."
Elijah opened the fridge and pulled out a gallon of milk. "Milk," he said, pouring it into Hayley's bowl.
She looked surprised, so I decided to step in..
'I did the shopping last month," I said. "I knew you liked your milk, so I bought some."
Hayley smiled, looking genuinely happy. "Thank you!"
I smile back, but it faded when I noticed Elijah had left. It was going to be a long day.
