Chapter 10

LAUREN saw an aged woman and she don't like her aura until it notice her.

"And who are you?"

"Uhh—" and she couldn't continue because the aged woman keep blabbering, screaming and shouting at Camila so she now interrupt, "hey you don't need to shout."

"I can handle this," Camila said to Lauren when she noticed her that she's in rage.

"No Camz, not this time," and she pulled her away from the aged woman, "what do you want?" she asked to the aged woman.

"Who are you to ask some question? It's my line raven-haired."

"You keep blabbering, saying bad words against Camila, why don't you just get to the straight point instead of screaming and shouting, you're creating a scene here."

"Ah I'm the one who started here."

"It's obvious you know, if you tell me what you really want it will be over."

"I'm here for her rent bills."

"That's it?" and she took her wallet at her back pocket, "how much?"

"Lauren..."

"250 bucks," the aged woman answered flatly.

And Lauren took some into her wallet and gave it to the aged woman, "end of discussion, isn't it? Go and don't bother us anymore, will you?"

And the woman took it, "are you one of her victim, well too bad for you."

"What are you, an investigator, an officer, or a reporter? You're not in the position to ask me some questions."

And the aged woman left when the raven-haired gave her a death glare.

"Okay back to your work," she said shooing the neighbourhood, then she notice Camila biting her fingernails, felt guilty for what was happened, "Camz..."

"It was a big money Lo."

"I don't care about that money, I just don't want anyone belittled you," and she saw her tears so she wiped it, "you're my family now so I will not let anyone treat you badly and if they would, something will happen worse."

And Camila nod, "thank you but that's still a big money."

And Lauren smiled, "not arguing, but not a problem, go finish the packing we will leave, it's not good for us to stay here longer, it's bad for your recovery, now I understand."

"They're always like that anyways will you help me burn those pictures?"

"Is it okay to you?"

"As you said we're family now."

"Well it's easy," and she followed her inside.

After packing and burning those pictures and the memory of Shawn, Camila asked permission from Lauren if it's okay to see Shawn and it agreed. Lauren put the boxes at the back seat and they entered the 4 wheel vehicle and they left that toxic place.

"WHY are we here?" Camila asked when she saw the signage "L.A COUNTY JAIL."

"You asked me if you can see Shawn, he's here."

"How did you know?"

"I did ask some help to do a background check of him after DJ told me everything."

"You still kept me safe even though he's already in there."

"Because I don't care about your past, I'm not just your doctor I'm also your friend."

"Tell me, how can I repay you?"

"Seeing you completely healed and moved on, you're paid."

And Camila smiled, "the time really comes for him," she said while looking at the signage.

"So you already know his doings."

"Yes and I'm a fool for always believing in him, he always keep denying about it."

"Well, it's been 2 mos. when he put in there."

"I'm still at the hospital."

"Yes, he got arrested in a buy bust operation, for using and selling drugs and also for drug trafficking."

"Is his case closed?"

"The last thing I know it's still on hearing, I don't know now, after knowing all of his dark doings, I stopped digging who he truly was."

"I hope that the case is closed."

"Yeah, he's destroying the society," and Camila nod, "are you ready to see him?"

"Is it okay?"

"Of course."

"Okay, come with me please."

"I will." And they both unbuckle the seatbelts and went out of the vehicle.

CAMILA felt pity towards Shawn when she saw him, his beard was now long, the built was now thin, she'd almost didn't recognize him. Shawn looked at her and gave her a blank stare.

"What are you two doing here?" Shawn asked when they all sat at the visitor's area in the L.A County Jail.

"I'm here to apologize and Lauren was here to assist me, you're very different now," Camila answered.

"Don't give me that stupid statement I'm amazed that you still managed to live."

And Camila held Lauren's hand when she felt her rage, "thanks to her and DJ."

And Lauren calmed a bit.

"DJ?" and he smirk, "oh that Polynesian girl, bitch if you're not here to bail me out then leave, you already know that I don't want to see your ugly face, it's all you fault why I'm here."

Lauren interrupt them and said, "for all the good things and sacrifices that Camila done for you this is your payment? You don't deserve to live."

"It's her fault, not mine, she's a fool for loving me."

"You're right I'm a fool for loving you unconditionally and I'm sorry for that and that's the reason why I'm here," Camila said, "the payment had finally come for you."

"Screw you, stupid bitch."

"Thank you, because of what you've done I met Lauren, I'm setting you free now, from now on watch yourself, you're always like that, selfish, and I'm too blind for not seeing it for all those years that we've been together, we're done," and she stood, "come on now Lauren, I'm done here."

"Okay," and she stood following Camila then she whispered to Shawn, "nice meeting you again jerk, rest in peace," and they left.

LAUREN just buckle her seatbelt when she notice Camila and she touch her shoulder and saw her wiping its tears, "come here," and she pull her for an embrace, "just cry," 'I want her mine.'

"I'm sorry Lauren."

"No Camz, not your fault, you did the right thing."

"I'm happy now because I'm free from him."

"Glad to hear that." And they both smiled.
