*9 months later* (still not present day)
I sat in our spot, I've been coming here a lot since he left. It reminds me of him. I haven't seen Corbyn since he left in September, now it's June and we haven't talked once. His family told me that he was coming back this week to visit. I don't even know if he would want to see me.
I heard my phone buzz in my pocket, I grabbed it and saw a text from Ashley.

*text between Ashley and y/n*
Ashley: hey y/n, Corbyn is coming home early, he'll be here later this afternoon
Y/n: hey Ashley, thanks for letting me know
Ashley: are you gonna come by and see him?
Y/n: idk yet, do you think he would want to see me?
Ashley: why wouldn't he
Y/n: well I mean we haven't talked in months
Ashley: so, you still have been best friends since like birth and dated all of high school
Y/n: idk Ash
Ashley: well you're welcome to come and the rest of us want to see you anyway
Y/n: alright, I'll think about it
Ashley: yay! Let me know
*end of text*

I decided that I might as well go see Corbyn. It might be a little awkward at first but Ashley was right, it's us, we've known each other so long. sS what we haven't talked in a while?
I stood in the mirror, checking my clothes, when I heard a car pull up in the driveway next door. I immediately knew it was him. I walked over to my window and looked out, I saw Corbyn get out of the car, a smile found its way on my face but it was gone as fast as it came when I saw a girl get out of the car behind him. He put his hand out for her to grab and she did, they walked up to the house and Corbyn knocked, giving the girl a quick peck on the lips. I felt my heart shatter. Of course he moved on. Of course he didn't wait, I waited for him but he didn't do the same. I watched them walk inside the house before I walked over to my bed and curled up in a ball, letting the tears roll down my face. I was the one who broke things off, I can't be mad at him for moving on. Maybe it's time for me to as well.
I guess we weren't meant to be.
