"Explain," Christina urged.
I looked to Corbyn, unsure of how to start. Corbyn looked back at me and nodded.
"Two years ago Corbyn and I were dating. We had been best friends our whole lives and eventually started dating in high school. But when Corbyn was getting ready to move to LA to start the band, I decided that it would be best if we broke up so that he could have a fresh start in LA. So we broke it off, we didn't talk to each other, and we both moved on." I explained as I held back tears. Just thinking about our past brought back so many feelings I had pushed away.
Everyone looked back at us, mostly shocked, except for Ashley. Christina and Jared just looked pissed.
"Then a few months ago, I went to visit Christina and she said she had set up a double date for us with two of her friends. I agreed to go on the date without knowing who her friends were. I went to the date and once I saw that it was y/n who was Christina's friend I panicked. I thought it would be best just to pretend like I didn't know y/n, I also figured I wouldn't see her again after the date. It was a stupid idea. Once I started pretending I guess y/n went along with it, she wasn't the one who started it," Corbyn then explained further.
"Christina then you invited me to spend this summer in LA with you, I was hesitant because I didn't want to spend the summer with my ex and his new girlfriend. I had put the fact you were dating Corbyn aside so that we could be friends. Eventually I had no excuses so Jared and I went to LA with you. Corbyn and I just kept pretending because at this point we were too far in to stop," I continued.
"Y/n and I got into an argument about it one night a week ago. She said we shouldn't be pretending but I told her we had to. It's my fault," Corbyn said.
"No Corbyn, it's not. I went along with it, it's both of our faults," I argued.
"I thought I could protect you Christina if I just pretended like I didn't know y/n. I'm sorry, I should have just told you the truth," Corbyn looked at Christina with pleading eyes, she looked back at him unsure of what to do.
"Jared, I should have told you the second we got home from the date but I didn't. I never thought I would see Corbyn again. I'm so sorry."
Jared stared back at me, he looked unsure, like Christina, but more cold. He looked like a completely different person, if that even makes sense.
"I'm sorry Christina, I should have told you," I said, turning away from Jared to look at her.
"Yeah, you should have. Because you're supposed to be my friend!" Christina yelled. I flinched at her words, but I knew she was right. "I don't know what to think right now, I just need space." Christina got up and walked out of the room and upstairs, going into her bedroom.
Jared followed without saying a word he walked into our room and slammed the door shut.
I looked at Corbyn who sat next to me. I let out a shaky breath and he did the same.
"What are we going to do?" I whispered to him.
"I don't know," he shook his head, a pained expression on his face.
I put my head in my hands, a few tears falling from my eyes.
This changes everything.
