I couldn't sleep; maybe it was the fact that I wasn't in my own home or that my ex was sleeping a room over from me... yeah, probably the second one. I think I need some water or fresh air or something. I need to clear my head. So, I sat up in bed slowly, I looked over at Jared he was still sound asleep. I scooted over to the edge and carefully set my feet down on the cold hardwood. I grabbed my phone before I quickly tiptoed to the door and opened it slowly, hoping it wouldn't make a sound. Once I opened it a little I squeezed my way through, checking one last time to see if Jared had woken up, he hadn't. I closed the door before tiptoeing over to the stairs and making my way down them. I walked into the kitchen and over to the refrigerator. I opened it and grabbed a water bottle and then closed the refrigerator door. I turned my head to the left and jumped when I noticed someone was standing there. The person walked a few steps and into the little bit of light that shown in the room. It was Corbyn.
"Hey," he whispered.
I didn't respond.
"It's been a while," he continued.
I looked at him and rolled my eyes. I did not need this right now. I pushed pass him and was about to go up the stairs.
"Y/n wait!" Corbyn whisper-yelled after me, causing me to stop.
I whipped around and looked at him, "oh so now you know who I am."
"Y/n..." He trailed.
"No Corbyn! You can't just pretend like you have been doing and expect me to be normal and myself around you when we're alone! It's not fair, to me, to Christina. Why are you pretending anyway? What am I some secret to you?"
"What? No! I just didn't want Christina to freak out."
"Whatever Corbyn."
"Y/n please! I missed you."
"Oh bullshit! I waited for you! And what did you do? You left and found someone new, someone better. You left me alone. What happened to 'always and forever'?! Was that all a lie to you?"
"NO! You're the one who broke up with me anyway! What was I supposed to do?"
"I did that for you, idiot!"
"Oh yeah sure, I loved you! And you broke up with me!"
"Screw you Corbyn." I ran out of the house, I needed to clear my head. I could feel the tears forming in my eyes, I blinked trying to get rid of them. I looked back at the house, I could see Corbyn standing in the doorway, watching me. I picked up my pace and continued down the road. I had no clue where I was going. I continued walking for a while. I found myself walking through the woods, a large hill stood in front of me. I walked up it and at the top was a clearing, it looked out over a lot of the city. It was beautiful, I found my new spot. I sat down on the grass and just looked out at the view. By now the sun was starting the rise, I had been gone for hours. As I sat there, memories started to come back to me, the place had a nostalgic feel. It reminded me of Corbyn and I's spot back home. I really can't escape him. No matter how much I want to forget about him, I can't. I don't know how I'm gonna do this for the rest of summer, pretending like we don't know each other.
I felt my phone buzz, I looked down at it to see a text from Jared.Message
Jared❤️
Where are you?I checked the time, it was 7 am. I've been gone for a long time. I quickly texted Jared.
*Text between Jared and y/n*
Y/n: sorry forgot to tell you but I went for a walk, I'll be home soon x
Jared: ok love, see you soon
*end of text*I started to make my way back to the house. I memorized my walk home so that I could go back to that spot whenever I need to clear my head. After about an hour I made it back to the house.
"Hey, I'm back." I said as I walked into the house.
Jared looked up from where he was leaning against the counter in the kitchen before walking over to me. "Hey love," he said, giving me a quick peck on the lips as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Where'd you go?"
"Oh I just went for a walk. I couldn't sleep last night, I needed some air," I explained.
"Leaving a note or text or something would have been nice, I was worried," Jared said.
"I know I'm sorry, I will next time," I said.
We walked into the kitchen, everyone was up and sitting at the counter.
"Hey y/n," they all said.
"Hey guys," I said.
"We were thinking about going out for breakfast," Jonah said.
"Sounds good to me," I said.
"Alright well, let's go then," Jack said.
We all got our stuff and then left to go to breakfast.
I looked over at Corbyn. He was already looking at me. When he saw me lock eyes with him he gave me a sympathetic look, l looked away.
"You okay?" Jared whispered to me.
"Yeah, all good," I said with a smile. I lied, I cant get Corbyn out of my head. God, I'm such a terrible girlfriend, thinking about another guy.
