Parker fixed his hair in the mirror for the hundredth time that evening. Truth was, he was terrified to see the divine Beth again after he had embarrassed himself so much earlier.
"Just be funny and smart and casual and..." He said sternly to himself in the mirror before his voice turned to a low whisper. "Be everything you are so easily when you're not around her." He decided he was being ridicoulous and made his way to the door. Instantly, as soon as he opened it he was faced with the beautiful Beth staring back at him, her mouth gaping.
"Beth?" He asked, confused. Why was she standing right outside his door? Oh bastard, had she heard him mumbling to himself like a mad man?
"Well... yes I am Beth." Beth said with a nervous smile. "And this certainly isn't the bathroom... oops my mistake!"
"Don't you have a bathroom in your room? Why would you go looking for another one?" Parker asked and Beth's cheeks turned a deep, deep red.
"Can a woman have too many bathrooms?" Beth said with an over enthusiastic smile.
"I guess... not?" Parker said but it came out as more of a question. Beth just wanted to fall down the stairs and not wake up.
"Yes, you're right! A girl can never, ever have too many bathrooms. You're really handsome." Beth blurted out really quickly before closing her eyes and scrunching up her face after she finished talking. Parker looked at Beth's cute, scrunched up face and thought how a woman who had acted elegant and sophisticated around men had gone like this around him.
"Thank you, you're very handsome too." Said Parker, scratching the back of his neck before widening his eyes as he realizes what he just said. He had just called Lady Beth Bellamy.... handsome.
"Handsome?" Beth asked, giggling and grinning from ear to ear.
"No you're not handsome! You're pretty and beautiful and... you're beautiful Beth! Beth the beautiful!" Parker said, rambling on, almost to himself.
"Thank you Parker." Beth said, blushing to no end as was Parker. "We should go to dinner."
"Yes! Yes, dinner. Let's go, it's dinner." Parker said and offered his arm to Beth which she gladly took, shaking with nerves. They made there way down the stairs, both blushing, rambling messes.
