He's been sitting with his back against the wall that's keeping him separate from Her, his arms resting on his knees, his eyes closed, his fists clenched, and his tears and sobs still slipping out. He's been waiting for an hour together with the officer but he's heard nothing except that She's injured but will survive. That She won't be taken to the ICU because She'll very surely wake up soon since they're lessening the already small amount of morphine She intakes.

"Was she your girlfriend?" the officer asks him.

Is.

He just nods, the mention of their relationship cutting his heart again. He's burning on the inside, not knowing how to take out all of his anger but at the same time scared of just moving. "I'm sorry."

The image of Her on the floor of Parker's room keeps haunting him, it keeps painting the whole picture on his closed eyelids, but yet, he can't bring himself to open them. The only time he opens his red eyes, is when the hand of a girl is placed on his knee, her other hand holding a glass of water. He swallows before throwing his head down, his tears flowing again and his sobs filling the hospital. She puts the glass down, not hesitating a second before giving him a hug.

Even a stranger saw his pain. That's the level of pain he's facing, that's how much it got, that he couldn't hold it back, but is now forcing it all out so badly that a stranger came to offer help. He's so ruined, that he lets that stranger try to comfort him for a few moments. When she lets go, she picks up his hand from his knee and gives him the glass of water again, letting her hand rest on his before she walks back to her seat a few feet away.

"Landon!" a voice yells. "Landon!"

He lifts his gaze slowly and sees his mother storming through the hospital on her way to him. He stumbles up from his seat, dropping the glass the strange girl gave him, and throws himself at her, sobbing on her shoulder as she strokes his back. "I'm sorry baby, I'm so sorry. She'll be okay, vas a ver, she'll be fine."

He connects the last time she didn't speak Spanish with him, also this one being from when his father was killed. The only time she's spoken English with him has been when she's tried comforting him like his father, when she's tried to give him a piece of his hero in his darkest days.

Person after person is thrown on him when his friends show up and join what they know is Mrs Fernandez's prayer for Her, something they made sure to do when She tried escaping. She's mumbling a prayer in her son's ear, her eyes closed, when the friends who ran their way to the hospital join the hug.

In silence they stand and in silence they part, all of them ending up sitting against the wall; Thomas with his head against his knees, Parker with his head pinned against the wall in an attempt to break it, Dylan with his eyes locked on his wet hands and bloody shirt as tears continue wetting it, Isaac tightly holding Elaine's hand with both his as she strokes them with her thumb, and Elaine holding her cousin's head against her chest, stroking his cheek and kissing his head as her own silent tears wet it. She's trying to hold herself together for the other ones, mainly for the cousin that's currently hugging her waist as tightly as he can. Mrs Fernandez is sitting on the chair beside the officer, watching her kids as they fight against their thoughts, and answering the few silent questions the officer dares ask her.
