Parker decided to put the house for sale; nine hundred thousand dollars if I'm not mistaken, since the house is really beautiful. He said not even he can stay there, even though it's his grandfather's and a dream, despite it turned into a nightmare. He said that when he buys himself a new villa with the money, we're all welcome to be his house buddies for three hundred bucks a month. It was a bit more than before, but to be fair, none of the things that were supposed to go right have gone right until now, and to increase the rent with a few dollars isn't something any of us decided to argue or even think about.
The principal told Iona (who's the only one that has showed up to school the past two months apparently) that all of us have the chance to go back to school and do all of our exams and essays. If we pass, we'll graduate. If not, we've failed. He said that he is sorry for everything that's happened, but that we need to take our education very seriously if we wanna change our future from the path it's taking now. He said all of us have potential and deserve the chance he wants to give us and that he knows we're smart enough to take it, leading to me forcing both myself and the boys to take.
The only thing I'm currently holding on to is the future, one I hope to be bright and where I can help a lot of people when I graduate as a surgeon.
The future of the boys, whom I know will only go to do the exams if I go, and so I'm forcing myself because of them too. I've ruined their present, trust and hearts, the least I can do is to make sure the three of them and Elaine do those tests.
Isaac, whose school schedule has been really weird until now, somehow, got his degree in law a month ago, and is now officially a lawyer within the crime circle, telling me he's gonna fight for this to "the end of the fucking world, only to get that fucking asshole behind bars, the place where the people are criminal as fuck, but have integrity they won't step on when it comes to two kinds of assholes; child abuse and rape", something I smiled at and hugged him for. They were all surprised, least to say, since it was the first hug I gave any of them except Landon. That night we ate pizza, but of course, the tension was felt, replacing the oxygen with a heavy weight that made it really hard to breath.
I wish I could say the exams I missed and was forced to do today were the hardest part of the six hours at school, but no. The hardest part was ignoring the looks and comments, staying in Dylan's shadow, and the fear of being alone. Even the teachers have sent me pitiful looks and glanced away when I've caught them doing that.
Elaine has kept Kaitlyn as distracted as possible after she snapped at one of the comments they threw at me, which means she's kept her away from me. The classes I've been separated from Dylan in, Thomas has been with me, his arm over my shoulders, leading me to class. Iona hasn't complained about not seeing or sitting beside her boyfriend at all, she's even ignored him the whole day. Ignored me, probably, since I know she feels bad as well. She's been with her friends and even she lost it once, I heard, snapping at some guy.
