Far From Comfort

7. The Welcome Party

-Lucy's POV-
-In the morning-

I woke up to the sound of birds tweeting on my window sill. I slowly sat up on my bed and yawned. Ahh I've missed this bed.

I got up and went to the bathroom to freshen up. I splashed ice cold water on my face to feel more awake. I took a nice quick cold shower and got ready.

I closed the door behind me and started walking towards the guild. It was currently 8:00 AM so I wouldn't be surprised if the guild was mostly empty.

As I opened the door to the guild hall, I heard a few voices inside. Turned out I was right all along. There were only about 10 people in the guild, which in comparison to most days, it's only a few.

I quickly recognized some faces out of the few people that are there. Mirajane was preparing the food while Erza was organising the buffet table and setting up/decorating the tables.

Jet and Droy were setting up the DJ table while Wendy and Romeo inflated the balloons. On the other side of the guild Juvia and Meredy set up the decorations and banners.

Natsu and Happy were just admiring Mira as she cooked all their favourite foods.

"Guys let her breathe" I said as I dragged both Happy and Natsu away from Mirajane so she could cook in peace.

"Fish~" Said Happy dreamingly as drool escaped his mouth.

I let them go on top of a table and went help out with the decorations for the party.

I joined Juvia and Meredy who were decorating and painting the 'welcome back' banner which was going to go on the entrance of the guild.

"Hey guys! Anything I can help you with?"

"Uhhh I don't think so. Oh I think no one's planned the party activities yet. Jet and Droy were supposed to do it but they are still setting up the DJ table" Juvia answered.

"Oh well I'll get on with that then!"

I walked over to an empty table on a corner of the guild. One that hadn't already been decorated by Erza. I got a paper and a pen and started writing out activity ideas.

After a while of brainstorming ideas Erza walked up to me. "I guess you have to decorate this table now right? I'll move"

"It's ok Lucy, I just came here to see how the activities were going"

"Oh, well I've got a couple of things down but I'm kind of stuck right now"

"Mmhmm, what do you have?"

"I have karaoke, music numbers, quizzes and a pool tournament"

"Ummm, how about a drinking game?"

"A drinking game?" I asked intrigued.

"Yup! Ever heard of it? Basically about 6 people or so play at a time. Two people have to drink 2 shots of vodka at the same time and whoever can drink them quicker gets a point. The two then get a dare each. Whoever completes their dare first get another point. Then another two repeat the same thing. This goes on until someone gets 10 points. The first person to get 10 points wins. The pairs keeps switching each time so it's fairer" She explained.

"Woah.. that's a lot of alcohol. If we do play that game we are not going to play with Cana" I said laughing.

"You said it! Well I'll get back to table duties now, see you around Lucy!"

"Pppffftttt..... she said 'duties'" I heard a voice from behind me say. I instantly knew it was Happy by the way he said it.

"Stop being annoying and be helpful Happy" I said facing Happy.

"Aye Sir..."

Everyone got on and continued doing their part. Eventually more people arrived at the guild and started helping out with the party. Now there's only 10 minutes until the party starts and basically everyone's arrived at the guild.

"I wonder when Yukino, Sting, Lector, Frosch and Rogue are going to arrive" I said to Cana while staring at the guild door inpatient for their arrival.

Right on cue Yukino and the others walked into the guild hall.

"Yukino!!" I ran towards them and tightly hugged Yukino. We briefly caught up and then I walked around the guild making sure everything is going as planned.

I saw Juvia sitting on a table alone deep into her own thoughts. I decided to walk up to her to see if anything is wrong.

"Hey you ok there?"

"Huh?" She looked up and our eyes met "Oh hi Lucy. I'm fine really, just thinking. It's such a shame Lyon won't be able to make it, I was looking forward to seeing him. Turns out he went on a mission with Chelia this morning. But that's just me making a big deal over nothing so don't worry ok?"

She looked sincere, so I guess I'll believe her. "Well it's 9:30! Let the party start!"

-Time skip-
-Juvia's POV-

As I looked at the clock I realized it was already 11:45pm. Since when?! Time went by so quickly.

Suddenly my ears started aching and my head started to hurt. Turns out they were doing karaoke, and guess what. It was Gajeel's turn. Luckily for me and for anyone who appreciates their eardrums, he was quickly pushed off the stage by the audience and the next person came up.

I looked around the guild and saw some people making out while being crazy drunk. Some people are really gonna regret this tomorrow. Mostly because of the hangovers.

I walked over to the bar where Erza, Lucy, Natsu, Gray and Jellal are.

"Hey guys! Hey Lucy congratulations on the activities, seems like everyone is enjoying themselves. What are you up to?

"Well we were actually planning on playing a drinking game Erza told me about, as basically all of us are tired of doing karaoke" Responded Lucy.

"A drinking game you say?"

Erza then proceeded to explain how the game works and how you get the points to win. Sounds interesting enough.

"Alright, lets play then!"
