Claire's POV
_____An Year Ago_____
I'd been so strong all day long.
I knew this day was going to appear, I'd just not expected it would come so soon.
At the tender age of seventeen I'd become an orphan.
The day I'd lost my father.
Having my father as the chief of Bradford Police I knew every day he left there was no telling if he would return. But that did not stop me from feeling miserable, supportless and orphan at the moment.
I had tried to be as stone-face as possible through-out the day. Talking short and curt to the people coming to me just to soothe me out. The people included my dad's best friend's wife and Harry, their son.
I had pinched my heart to keep my eyes from watering. I did not want anyone to know how vulnernable I felt after the loss of my only parent.
But as the coffin lowered into the ground I couldn't help but bawl out in sorrow.
I fell to my knees my eyes filling to the rim and overflowing thereoff. I couldn't support my body anymore. Suddenly I was pulled into some-one's chest.
I didn't care to see who it was, crying till I had soaked the person's t-shirt.
I looked up to find Harry's reddening eyes. "Shushhh....." he said rubbing my back. "Your dad was a great man, Claire. Hold pride that he was your dad." Harry's voice spoke into my ears. I still settled deep into his chest no longer wanting to face the world.
______Present_______
I heard soft knocking on my door.
"Wake up, m'lady. It's almost time for school. Harry had called. He wanted me to tell you to get ready."
I groaned at my care-taker, Alicia's voice signifying that it was morning already.
"What time is it, Alicia?" I croaked stretching beneath the covers, my eyes still protesting to open-up to the morning light.
"It's 7:30 already, Claire. You need to get up." Alicia's voice carried worry.
My eyes flew open.
"7:30!! Oh God! Harry would be here any moment!!" I said hurrying out of my bed and falling the process.
"Oh! M'lady are you alright?!" Alicia ran to my aid.
"Yeah. Yeah I'm fine." I said getting up.
"Just tell Harry to be patient for a few minutes." I instructed her before running into my bathroom.
I just rushed over my morning chores and ran down the stairs just in time since Harry had already started honking in-front of my house's gate.
"M'lady! Your breakfast!" Alicia ran behind me with a dish in her creased hand.
"Alicia! How many times do I have to tell you it's Claire not 'M'lady' ! And as for the break-fast I'm sorry I'm already late for school-" Harry's car's horn acted perfectly as a back-ground music. "See?" I said.
"I have to rush." I said picking up my trainers off the shoe-rack.
"At least have something." Andrew (rather Andy) Alicia's husband and my care-taker, said.
"Andy..." I started but I knew there was no winning against him. "I'll take the apple." I said.
"That's my girl!" he beamed as he threw an apple towards me.
"See ya!" I waved at them catching the apple without fail.
I ran towards Harry's car barefoot.
"Finally Miss. Watson's ready." Harry grinned.
"Not ready, yet." I said holding the trainers high in the air.
"No one can beat you at being late, woman! Now hop-in we gotta pick Spencer up." Harry said rolling his eyes.
I got into the car's front-seat, kept the apple on the dash-board as I started wearing my shoes.
After I was done with it I found no apple on the dash-board.
"Hey! That was supposed to be my break-fast!" I said realising that the apple had ended-up in Harry's mouth.
"Aww, c'mon! Don't whine.. I was hungry!" Harry said. I just scowled at him and sat straight in a huff.
Harry, of-course, having an ego-problem did not make an effort to apologise rather he still munched on the apple loudly just driving me insane by it!
He drove in silence as we had reached Spencer's place.
Spencer stood in the yard of her house tapping her foot restlessly. Uh-oh bad sign.
"You kept me waiting for complete five minutes!!" she yelled at Harry.
"Talk to the lady." Harry said sending all of the blame onto my head.
"No! Talk to the person who ate my break-fast." I said pointing to Harry. Spencer rolled her eyes as she hopped into the back seat.
"Okay so you already have started a fight." she said settling into the hoodless Maserati Harry used to drop us at school.
None of us replied.
"Gosh, you guys fight like bitches and still claim to be each others' bestfriends." Spencer huffed in the back seat.
"That's how best-friends are, Spence." I and Harry said in unision.
"Yeah, no wonder." Spencer scoffed while Harry and I grinned at each other.
"I'm still mad at ya." I reminded Harry.
He pouted with puppy eyes.
"Eyes on the road, Styles." I warned.
Harry pulled up in the parking lott of our school.
"Don't worry, love, I'll buy you lunch." Harry reassured behind me.

Back in Manchester a young man's phone ring vibrated through the house.
"Hello?" the husky voice spoke into the phone.
"I've got a work for you, lad. You and your partner have to go to Bradford for that. The further information you'll get when you reach there." the hoarse voice ordered.
"How do we get there?" he asked his husky voice feeling vulnernable against the hoarse one.
"The tickets are waiting for you at the door." with that the line went dead.
"What's it?" the boy's partner-in-crime asked.
"We have to go to Bradford. Looks like home is missing me." the boy grinned.
