Seokjin watched from the window of the infirmary as Wooyoung and his father bowed before their pack. After the incident the night before, Wooyoung's father was left to clean up the mess his son had created. He was utterly embarrassed, face red as he apologized profusely to Namjoon's parents. Seokjin had hoped for a severe punishment, but their pack alpha was always kind, too kind in certain situations. He didn't lash out, he did however ask them to leave at once with the announcement that their packs would no longer be in contact with one another. The sun was already setting, and Seokjin watched as Wooyoung bowed one last time before following after his parents. He didn't wait around to watch them leave, turning back to the alpha resting on the bed. It seemed like Namjoon spent more time in the infirmary than anyone else and he was beginning to feel as if it was his fault. He furrowed his eyebrows, pouting as he took a seat beside the bed and reaching to hold the alphas hand. The healer said he would wake soon, his wound wasn't too deep, and his life wasn't in grave danger. His stomach churned once more at the thought of the night before, eyes tearing up as the sight of Namjoon bleeding came back to his mind.
He felt the tears falling before he realized he was beginning to cry once more. Resting his head against Namjoon's arm, he let the tears continue to fall. A sudden thought came to his mind, one rendering him with sorrow at the idea that maybe none of this would have happened if he had rejected the Wooyoung since the beginning. He felt hypocritical, thinking about all the times he laughed at the other omegas who would gossip about wanting to find a mate. He would roll his eyes at their hopeful words, yet the moment Namjoon showed the least bit of interest in him, he was falling utterly fast for the alpha. Maybe he wasn't as strong willed as he thought he was, maybe deep inside he had the same desires as the rest of the omegas in his pack. Would it be better to call the whole thing off, to announce he was no longer interested in mating? Would it be for the better, for Namjoons well being?
Seokjin stilled suddenly, having gotten too lost in his mind to not feel the soft petting against his head. He pulled away quickly, eyes widening when he saw Namjoon smiling at him. Relief washed over him in an instant, stomach swarming with butterflies when the alphas smile got wider and his dimples curved inward on both cheeks. New tears sprung to life, however this time they were falling from happiness.
"Don't cry, it makes me upset to see you cry." Namjoon reached towards him, fingers barely grazing his cheek.
"How can I not cry, I was so worried." Seokjin cried harder now, eyes closing as he took in deep breaths in between sobs.
Namjoon sighed, swallowing the pain down as he sat up in bed and pulled the omega towards him. His alpha whined, feeling wrongful for making their omega cry once again. He held him tightly, running a hand up and down his back to calm him. A few minutes passed by in silence, the occasional hustling of the leaves interrupted the small sobs that were being muffled against his chest. When he heard his cries slow and his chest rising normally he pulled away to look at him. Seokjin kept his gaze down, cheeks red and eyes glistening from the tears still clinging to his long eyelashes. His heart stuttered, he didn't know if that was normal or not, but all he could think was about his omega looking pretty even while crying.
"This is all my fault, you keep getting hurt because of me." Seokjin sniffles, looking up at Namjoon to see his reaction. He wasn't ready to see the other upset, eyes narrowing. Maybe he wasn't the only one who thought it was all his doing.
"Don't say that, I would go through anything for you." The words hit him much harder than they should have, and when he looked up again, Namjoon looked at him with a worried expression. He thought it would end there, but Namjoon took hold of his hand before continuing, "I would break every bone in my body for you, I would go up against a hundred wolves for you without thinking twice about myself."
"Don't say such things, I don't want you to get hurt again."
"It doesn't matter to me, I want you to know. I want you to know that I would go into that blazing fire once again for you. So don't cry or think that you're at fault."
Namjoon holds his face carefully, running his thumb across his cheek in affection. Seokjin looked away, eyes casting down at his lap from the growing embarrassment. The alpha was looking at him intently, eyes burning warmly into his, he couldn't keep looking at him without his face turning red.
"Look at me, please."
Seokjin hesitated for a moment, but when he did, he could feel his heart stop in his chest. Nothing could have prepared him for the rushing feeling tumbling within him. Namjoon had made him feel all kinds of things, but the love he held in his eyes was nothing compared to any of those feelings. He couldn't help but smile, small yet enough for the alpha to mirror it. He held his breath when Namjoon leaned in, and when they kissed it wasn't the same as before. There were so many new unspoken feelings filtering between them, and yet again he wasn't prepared for the bursting fluttering cascading down his stomach. The alpha held his face delicately as they kissed, maneuvering them into an angle without letting go of his soft hold.
When they pulled away, the two smiled shyly. Namjoon let go, and scratched the back of his head. Seokjin wasn't any different, looking away and focusing on anything. There had been so many other things they have done, that they shouldn't have, yet this small kiss made them a fuming mess of feelings. Seokjin gasped, turning back and pulling the blanket that was bunched up around Namjoon's waist. The bandage was clean, no blood seeping through any longer.
"Does it hurt? Should I get you some tea?"
"I'm fine...but...did I win?"
Seokjin couldn't believe the words that had come out. A small chuckle escaped his lips, yet he couldn't contain himself from laughing out loud. Namjoon eyed him before laughing with him, dimples on display once again.
