The Love Song

Excitement

"A record deal?!" I ask, astonished. "For real?" My eyes are wide and my heart is pounding. I had been waiting for this for forever. I realize how stunned I must look so I plaster on a look of professionalism and smile at him. "I mean, thank you! Yes!"

As if on cue, Lauren walks over and directs her attention to the man in the suit. Garett is directly behind her and he waves to Thomas and Hannah. 

"What is all this about?" Lauren asks, smoothing down her skirt. 

"This is my manager, Lauren Trevor." I say. The man in the suit extends his hand. 

"I'm Gregory Campbell, musical talent scout. I am employed by TJ Records and I have noticed the amount of exquisite vocal talent, stage presence, and class your client has and I would like to offer her a deal."

Lauren's eyes light up. This is what we've been waiting for all this time! 

"Wow, this is so sudden!" She says, "Well if you wouldn't mind just coming with me to get this all sorted out, I think we have ourselves a deal?" She motions to me and I nod my head vigoriously.

Lauren and Gregory leave and I'm still smiling like a little kid. 

"AHH!" Aoife screams. She hugs me and before I know it we're in a giant group hug again. 

"Coral!" Thomas says. "Don't forget about us when you're famous!"

"Thomas!" I say, too excited to think. "This is so insane!"

He smiles and pulls me into a hug. Hannah's scowl grows and my friends giggles get louder.

I pull away, heart pounding. Being in his arms just feels... good, I suppose. But after a few more conversations Lauren returns and she pushes me to head home. I'm too excietd to hear what she negotiated that I don't protest. I say goodbye to everyone and jump into her car.

"LAUREN!" I scream when I buckled in.

"Gabrielle. This. Is. Amazing." She replies. "I can't even begin to explain how much this is going to change our lives. They record in New York, so we're capable of staying here. We've got meetings all week to go over the things you've written and get them ready to be recorded. They're already planning to get your new single out, so that will be decided in the meetings, too.  Gabi, this is it!" 

I lean over and hug her, regardless if she's driving or not. This is both of us, both of our lives. It's as much my success as it is hers.

Note!

Hey guys, so this is my first little note for this story, I guess. 

Anyways, I've added a cast. It's really hard to do, because I've created the characters in my mind and it's hard for me to chose someone to portray them. Some of the appearances aren't spot on, but I thought the actors/actresses chosen fit well with the personalities and could play them. If you don't think it works, send me your suggestions, or just picture the characters as you see them in your head while reading!

I also feel like I need a more captivating cover. So if you have any ideas on where I sohuld get one, or what it should be, please let me know!

I'd also like to point out that the chapters are really short. But that's just the way I prefer writing! I'll try to upload a lot so there's always something to read, though! Please  comment/vote if you've read and would like more!
