I wake up to the sun hitting my face,  rubbing the tiredness away from my eyes, as I swing my legs over my twin bed. As my feet feel the cold wooden floor underneath me, standing and stretch my aching muscles.

Going to my dresser and pick out a black and green, plaid pleated skirt, and a plain dark green spaghetti strapped shirt. Finishing off the look with a oversized dark blue jean jacket.

Quickly going over to the bigger room across from mine to my little brother's room. I quietly open the wooden door, knocking on it softly. "James, come on it's time to get ready for school." Speaking in a soft tone as I go to his dresser pulling out a simple blue and white shirt, and blue jean shorts, laying them on his dresser.

The young long haired blonde boy groans, as he flips over on to his other side. "Noo school, only sleep sissys." He explains, pulling the covers higher on to his body.

I sigh, kneeling beside his bed, petting his head gently. "Come on it's the last day boyo, you have your party today." I answer, he immediately bounces on to his feet all of a sudden excited to go to school.

"Come on we's gotta go, Keke!" He bounces getting on his outfit.

"Okay, get dressed I'm gonna get some food for us then we can go." I smile, walking into the kitchen, getting out a banana, and pouring some cereal into a bowl, adding milk. Soon after a small five year old comes running out, holding his black belt in his hands, as he patently sits at the table.

I smile as I bring him his cereal, setting it infront of him. He eats it happily kicking his feet, as I put the banana in the young boy's blue bag. While I'm beside the door where both our school bags, and shoes are. I get our bags, his black white tennis shoes, and my black black Mary Janes.

I bring them back to where he is, he shifts a little so I can put bis shoes on, as he eats. I slip his shoes on, then tie them in a little bow. After his shoes are taken care of, I slip on my black socks, then the shoes, and proceed to stand up.

He finishes his bowl, and puts it in the dishes, coming back and giving me his black belt. I loop it in his pants, and hand him his bag. "All ready, J?" I ask, looking down to the boy, he nods as he reaches up to my hand, holding it leading me out the door.

With my black bag around my shoulder, locking the door to the house. With that we are on our way to his school, he rides his tricycle beside me, as I walk beside him. My eyes watching him as he peddles down the pavement, making sure he doesn't get too ahead of me.

We get farther down the street, and he stops at the bike rack infront of his elementry school. My eyes follow him  as his friends come beside him, pulling him to the playroom. The boy waves to me, "Bye Keke!" The brown eyed boy screams, before running off with his friends.

A soft giggle erupts from my mouth, as I watch him, before heading off to my school, just a couple blocks from this one.

Walking down the concrete sidewalk, the day was nice. The sky look as though it was painted blue, simple strokes of white every now and again acting as clouds. A content sigh escapes my lips, as I take in my surroundings.

Derry from the naked eye would look like a picture perfect little town. As the town gets decent weather most of the time. Well cleaned, hardly any trash lying about. Some cute shops along the main street of Derry, then a cute park right in the middle of the town, making it, the main attraction of the small community.

However, the number of missing kids could not be ignored. It's as if it's a low hanging curse on this town, at least for now. Days like today mask that underlying, pretty well. The weather, and sky making seem as though everything is and always will be just fine. However, every kid and hopefully every parent still has that one thought burning a in the back of their mind.

Am I safe?
