This could be triggering
Cheryl sat on the doctors bed waiting for them to say the inedible.
"Miss blossom" the female doctor said as she entered the room. Cheryl looked at her and nodded for her to continue. "I'm sorry but you have cancer"
As soon as those words left the doctors mouth Cheryl's facial expression dropped. She knew what the doctor was going to say, but hearing it, having it confirmed was the worst feeling in the world. She could see everything crumbling down.
She left the doctors office to take time on how she would handle this and how to tell people, maybe she wouldn't even tell.
Later that same day Toni called and said she was coming over to watch a movie and as much as Cheryl didn't want to see Toni because she new Toni would make her say what's wrong she also thought that maybe she could use this to get her mind off of it.
Toni came over and they ended up sitting on the couch watching a movie snuggled up together in a blanket. Cheryl tried to distract herself if just didn't work. Toni new something was up with Cheryl. She was starring into space watching the movie and not as close to Toni as she usually is.
"Hey Cher you okay?" Toni asked still leaning on her girlfriend.
"Yeah I'm fine" Cheryl said bluntly while looking away from Toni.
"Seriously Cheryl what's wrong, I know something is going on" Toni sat up and looked straight at Cheryl. But she still wasn't looking at her. Toni turned Cheryl's head with her hand to revel a tear stained cheek and slightly glassy eyes.
"Cheryl please tell me" Toni looked into her eyes and Cheryl couldn't resist much longer with Toni looking at her full of love and worry.
"I-I have...cancer" Cheryl sighed and let another tear fall from her eye. Toni's heart dropped for Cheryl. She instantly pulled her into a tight hug not wanting to let go. Scared that if they do the world would end.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Toni asked breaking apart from the hug with tears running down her eyes too.
"I thought you would leave me or be mad"
"I would never leave you, ever. And why would I be mad. We're in this together Cher, I love you no matter what" Toni said and pulled her girlfriend into a kiss that was loving and soft.
"I love you too" Cheryl said back to her girlfriend.
After telling their close friends about the bad news they decided to do as much as they could for the time they had left. Until Cheryl had to go in to get treatment.
Cheryl sat in her bed with tubes connected to her arm, liquid running through them to help keep her as healthy as possible. But inevitably Cheryl was going to die. She never told any of her friends or Toni but they all knew it.
She sat in her bed with her girlfriend to her side and all her friends around her. Veronica, Betty, Kevin, Fangs, and sweet pea. As sad as they all were, they tried keeping Cheryl as happy as possible by playing cards games, making jokes, talking about how shitty collage is.
"Guys it's getting late you should all go home and sleep" Cheryl said
"Are you sure?" Veronica asked and Cheryl nodded. They all eventually made there way out except Toni who demanded that she was staying.
"I love you Toni" Cheryl said looking to her right at Toni.
"I know, I love you too" Toni said and kissed Cheryl on the forehead.
"I just needed you to know that incase" Cheryl said and Toni leaned in to kiss her on the lips.
A couple hours pass and everything is fine, Cheryl is asleep and Toni is just looking out the window of their room. All a sudden the monitors start beeping like crazy and the heart
rate monitor drops.
Play "hold on" now if you really wanna cry.
"HELP SOMEBODY HELP" Toni cries out and three doctors run into the room instantly doing CPR on Cheryl. One of the doctors starts trying to get Toni out of the room.
"No I can't leave" Toni tries to push past but one of the doctors stops her they eventually get her out of the room and into private lobby. Toni sits on a chair tears going down her face until Veronica shows up because Toni called her.
Once Veronica showed up she knew it was bad, she could see how scared Toni was by the look in her eyes not to mention the tears. Veronica sits down beside her and pulls her into a hug.
"For Cheryl" a doctor called and Toni looked up from the hug.
"Is she okay" Toni asked tears threatening to spill again. The doctor just shook her head
"I'm sorry but, Cheryl passed"
The words came out in slow motion. Toni felt like she was being choked. It was hard to breath and tears poured out. Not just from her but Veronica also. They pulled each other into a tight hug and let each other cry for hours.
Veronica decided to call sweet pea as well knowing him and Toni were close and knew she could use some more support.
After sweet pea showed up a doctor came out again asking for Cheryl's family.
"I found this note on the table beside her and thought you might want it" she gave the note to Toni. She had no idea what to do with it and starred at the note for a solid 5 minutes.
"You should open it" Veronica eventually said.
Toni looked at her then opened the note and it read....
My love, Toni
"I'm sorry i can't be here with you anymore but just know I'm in a better place now, I'm with jj and I still can see you, but I need you to live for me."
Cheryl wrote on the piece of paper as tears fell down her face. She looked over at Toni sleeping soundly wishing that she could be with Toni forever but she knew her time was running out.
"I wish I had more time with you because words cannot describe how much you mean to me. So please live on without me and find love. My life was horrible until you came into it, you were my light. Someday we'll meet again, but it's not any time soon. You have all your life still. My nana gave me this ring once, she told me make sure you give it to someone special, who makes all the pain go away, who is the star in your sky. Toni topaz you were my star so please keep this ring safe for me. Don't be sad. I'll always be with you."

Toni opened the letter more to revel a silver ring with a little diamond on top. As she put the ring on more tears started falling from her eyes only this time they weren't only sad tears they were also happy.
For the rest of the week toni spent it at Veronica's place knowing she couldn't go back to her place with all of Cheryl's hoodies there and pictures of her on her walls.
"I miss her, a lot" Toni said sitting on Veronica's bed looking at pictures of Cheryl and her together on her camera.
"I know so do we" Veronica hugged her and pulled back.
"I wish I could get more chances to talk with her and tell her how much she meant to me as a friend" the raven haired girl said.
