Chapter 35

I was still heartbroken from my break up with Ashton and it seemed to be the big talk of college but it seemed some girls were happy Ashton was back on the market. Every time I see Ashton now I avoid him I never got to tell him that I loved him as well it was all too much to take at once. I was walking to writing class when I got a call that made my day.

“Hello”?

“Hello Miss Montgomery it’s Dylan Abbott here, I want to talk to you about your book”

“Okay sure”

“Congrats Miss Montgomery I will be publishing your book and be on selves next month so I would like to speak to you say Friday afternoon”

“Sure of course”

“I will see you Friday” I was happy on the inside but I was still heart broken. It had been three days since my break up, I felt like Ashton already moved on from me that’s how negative I was with this break up. I bumped into someone and wasn’t surprised seeing Ashton but he wasn’t his smiley self his hair was messy than before, he had bags under his eyes and looked upset.

“I’m…I’m sorry” I said walking off before Ashton could stop me, I went around the corner to be alone from everything, I have everything I’ve ever wanted except one and that was something that made me happy.

When it came to Friday I found myself knocking on Mr. Abbott’s door. I walked into the office taking seat in front of him, he looked up smiling but I wasn’t.

“You wanted to see me sir”?

“Yep well I think this book is going to be massive and that means lots of touring for your big I’m sure this is going to be a movie”

“That sounds great sir but I don’t know if I can travel I mean I’ve got college” Mr. Abbott laughed getting up from his desk and sitting in front of me.

“Miss Montgomery your career is taking off and it’s best for you to leave college right now”

“Sir I can’t do that, it means saying goodbye to my friends and” he shook his head making me stop talking.

“Shannon, Shannon would you rather stay in college knowing shit you already know, or would you rather go traveling being the best author ever and have a movie for your books”

“That would be nice” I said to myself but I couldn’t just leave

“Listen hun I know you don’t want to leave because of your art major guy but”

“Actually we broke up three days ago” I said looking down at the ground

“Oh I’m sorry to hear that but listen to me Shannon think of your future; this is your time to shine” he had a point and every time I’m at college I’m heartbroken and don’t want to be there anymore. I started nodding my head looking up at Mr. Abbott and said

“I’m in I’ll leave college” we both shook hands and I made my way out of the office this was it I was leaving college for good. Now I had to face Mr. Xavier

I walked into class seeing it was empty which meant Mr. Xavier didn’t have a class on, he was doing his work and I spoke up

“Hey sir” he looked up smiling and said

“Shannon how can I help”

“I have to speak to you and you may not like it”

“Okay take a seat” I took a seat and explained everything to him and his smile faded when I told him I was leaving.

“I’m really sorry sir I just think its best”

“Well if you want my opinion I don’t think it’s best don’t get me wrong Shannon I’m happy but stay in college and wait it’s for this best”

“I’ve already made my choice sir, sorry”

“Well you know what I’m going to go I’m not telling the headmaster that you’ve dropped out because I have a feeling you will come back because I can see in your eyes that you don’t want to leave but hey it’s your choice but I am letting you know that if you return I won’t be mad but I might say I told you so”

“Thank you sir for understanding” I nodded my head and walked out of his classroom, now it’s official I’m leaving college and my friends behind and leaving Ashton behind as well.
