Chapter Two:

The light was blinding. Blue and Spyro had entered Skylands. Blue's eyes adjusted and everything came into view. Spyro had the biggest smile on his face. He hadn't seen home for a little over three years. The two met the riders three years ago and had been with them ever since. Skylands was a beautiful place. Floating majestic islands, covered with forests and the most extraordinary plants you wouldn't find anywhere else. Waterfalls that would fall over the edge of different islands, falling into clouds below. Tall mountains peeking, the sun shining brightly, this was home. Spyro flew gracefully, through the gaps between the islands, knowing exactly where to go. How to get home. Blue took in the views, she was happy to be home.....though other things were on her mind. The whole reason they were home was because they wanted answers from Eon. Their father. She felt terrible about only coming home to do that. Spyro seemed to have forgotten about that part. He just looked happy to be home.

One last turn and the academy came into view. The Skylander Academy was where Blue learned how to use her powers, and how to fight. Same for Spyro. It was where heroes and soldiers were trained, those who can fight against threats. Spyro flew faster, and Blue was pulled back by the wind a bit. He landed heavily in front of a building. Blue got off his back and stood beside him. "Dad will be so surprised! He's gonna be so happy to see us!", Spyro said happily, making his way to the door. Blue looked to the door,"Spyro", he turned,"Remember why we're here...", she said sounding concerned that he might have forgotten. "I know! No reason to be so serious!", he said casually. He knocked on the door waiting for a response. Blue joined him at the door. They heard the sound of a lock being opened and the door opened. Eon. His face lit up, "Blue! Spyro!", he said happily, pulling them into a hug. He hugged them very tightly,"Dad...can't breathe!!!", Spyro said exaggerating. He laughed and let go of the two. "Come in!", he said stepping aside. The two entered the house and sat down.

"Oh look at you two! You've been away so long....helping those friends of yours! I missed you two!", Eon said talking fast. He was their father, Spyro being the adopted one. He is a dragon after all. Blue and Spyro were the same age. Eon had saved Spyro after he was abandoned. Eon walked over to Blue, "Stand up my dear", she did. "Oh, you're so grown up! Look at you, my beautiful girl", Eon said praising her. He gave a quiet sniffle, "It seems like only yesterday you were my..little girl", he said sadly, tearing up. "Dad!! Stop..", she said laughing a little. He gathered himself, and took her hands into his,"Well. I'm glad your home", he said hugging her again, "You must be starving! I'll go make something..", he said turning to go to the kitchen, "Oh no Dad that's o....kay he's gone..", she said as he left. She sat down beside Spyro. "Relax Blue. We can ask him later, there's no rush. Besides! He's old....don't want to give him a heart attack or anything...", Spyro said in a whisper. "Spyro he's not going to have a heart attack", Blue said not whispering, "Shush! He'll hear you!", Spyro said in a panic, "Spyro. You were the one pushing to be here. I'll ask him what I want to know, he won't have a heart attack", she said sternly.

Eon came back in. "Bad news. I don't  have a lot to eat...normally just me here...you know...unless you want chocolate or somethi-", Blue cut him off, "Dad it's okay...look can..can we go for a walk..?", she asked. He smiled, "Of course! Let me get my walking shoes!", he left. Spyro looked baffled, "Since when does the emperor of Skylands own walking shoes..?", he said sounding confused. Blue rolled her eyes laughing,"They are more important questions to be asking right now". Blue and Spyro heard footsteps, Eon appeared,"Off we go! Spyro are you coming?", he asked happily. Spyro opened his mouth to say something when Blue jumped in front of him, "No no...he said he wanted to catch up with a few friends...just you and me Dad...", she said trying not to sound suspicious. He looked at both of them curiously. He nodded. "Alrighty then, let's go!", he said excitedly as he made his way to the door. He held it open for Blue and they set out.

Eon linked Blue's arm for support. They walked through beautiful scenery. Fresh green grass, bright blue sky, pretty flowers...it was perfect. Blue hadn't seen her father in three years. He had lost his 'mighty emperor' touch. He was now a soft, lonely, caring old man who missed his daughter. He held onto her tightly, as if afraid she'd leave again in that moment. 'Do I ask now?', she thought. 'Will it just ruin things?', she thought looking at how happy he looked to have his daughter back. 'But if I don't ask now...', she made up her mind. "Um..Dad?", he looked at her smiling. "Can we talk?", she asked nervously. "Of course my dear! We have three years to catch up on! Where have you been? There better be no boys involved..", he said the last part playfully. "Dad", she stopped and turned to face him,"I'm here because of Loki", she said it straight. "Who's Lo-", he tried to play innocent, but she cut him off. "Dad please don't play dumb. I met Loki again last year", she said blankly, getting slowly annoyed. He took a deep breath while closing his eyes. "I'm sorry sweetheart. I wanted only to protect you", he said with his head down. "Protect me from what?! You took me away from my best friend with no explanation. Better yet, you made us both forget about each other! What could possibly make you do all of that to protect me?!", she asked raising her voice. He grabbed her hands and held her. "You're right. I have not been honest with you. You have a right to know....", he said leading her to a log to sit on. Her hands still in his, he struggled to look her in the eye.

"I was a friend of Odin's.....it was only natural our children would befriend one another", he chuckled,"You and Loki took to each other very quickly. You were fascinated by him...it was quite cute. And he didn't have friends so, he was very grateful to have you", he said smiling softly at the memory. Blue smiled too, and listened carefully. "You two grew close, Odin wasn't happy about it...because of Loki. Odin never really accepted him as a son, not at the time. He told me horrid things....about how dangerous Loki was, even though he was a child child. I was scared. I feared for your life. So....I made a deal with Odin. To make you both forget. To protect you. And I was wrong. I'm sorry I did not realise sooner", he finished. He sounded full of regret. Blue looked as he held his head low. She saw that he regretted his choice. "But what about your adoptive son?", he looked up, "Spyro is a dragon...I thought you'd be more accepting of others.....you trusted Spyro", she stood up in anger, "Why couldn't you trust an innocent child?!", her eyes became teary, but she wouldn't let herself cry. She felt the need to appear strong.

"I'm sorry Blue. I only meant to protect you....my daughter...", his lip quivered trying not to cry, "from the unknown...." A part of Blue felt sympathy for him. But the other part, felt hate for how he had judged Loki, an innocent child....well...innocent at the time.

"Can you forgive me my daughter?"
