Chapter Six:

Blue left the house finding Loki and Spyro standing waiting for her. She gave them a small smile, then holding up the map. She smiled widely, jogging past them. She began running towards the edge of the island. Spyro smirked and gave Loki a smug look as he ran after her. She got to the edge and jumped, twisting herself so she fell head first. Spreading her arms out wide as she fell, smiling closing her eyes. Spyro caught her, "You're pretty excited about your parents huh?", Spyro joked. She fixed herself onto the saddle, "They're my parents. I have to find them...get more answers...", she said relaxing from the initial excitement. Loki looked over the edge of the island, seeing Blue and Spyro. 'Thank goodness she's alive...', he thought after just witnessing Blue jump off a cliff. "Um guys?", he called down. Spyro and Blue looked up. Spyro flew up, meeting Loki at the top. "Too scared to jump Loki?", Spyro teased. Loki rolled his eyes, "Well if I'm relying on you to save me then I'll take my chances on the ground thank you...", Loki retorted. Blue held her hand out for Loki, "Come on, we gotta get going!", she said. Loki shook his head frantically, "I'm not getting on your dragon", he said with a tone a sass. Blue rolled her eyes and smirked, "How are you gonna come?", she asked raising an eyebrow. Spyro stared him down while he decided on the next course of action. Loki sighed loudly, "Fine!", he took Blue's hand and she helped him up, "Woah Loki! Eat a salad would ya?", Spyro said exaggerating the weight on his back. Blue sighed, "Spyro please-", he turned quickly to face away from the island, "Just saying, it wouldn't kill him..", the group looked out. Out into the distance. They had a vast and beautiful landscape in front of them. Mostly made up of the early morning sky, far away islands that were distanced apart.

"Last chance Blue, are you sure about this...?", Spyro asked with a serious tone, making sure she knew what she was doing. Her eyes were focused ahead, Loki leaned forward and tilted his head to see her face from behind. She took a deep breath, "I'm sure...", she finally answered. Loki sat back again. Spyro began to fly forward. He moved at a steady pace, though Loki quickly wrapped his arms around Blue's waist in fear of falling. Blue looked back at the island as it distanced. She could've sworn she saw Eon standing at the edge to watch them leave. She felt guilty. She had left Eon too quickly, but she wanted to find her parents. She had to. She wanted to know how she ended up being found abandoned with a baby dragon. She looked forward again. She felt Loki shaking a little. She smiled softly to herself. She gripped his arms, making him calm down, to give him comfort. If she ever asked, he would surely deny. After only minutes of flying they were out of the main Skylands region, hardly an island to be seen now. Only a couple in the distance. They were now flying over empty, vast sky. There was an awkward silence. Blue took out her map, eyeing it closely. She looked at the location Eon had given her. It was far...very far. Their journey would be a long one, but how could it be? They had one thing a lot didn't. Flight. And Spyro wouldn't have to fly the whole way, Blue could fly some of the stretch too.

"Alright Blue. Which way we goin'?", Spyro asked enthusiastically. Blue looked to Spyro then the map again, "North...yeah..it's North..", she said a little unsure at first. Spyro gave a strong flap of his wings, "Great...the beautiful..cold North", he said sarcastically. Blue laughed, "You can turn back if you want!", she suggested jokingly. He sighed, "Nope! I'm with you all the way! Besides...maybe I might also find my family...who knows?", Spyro stated with a tone of hope. Blue bent to the side so he could see her. She gave him a reassuring look, "We can try..", she said and then straightened back up. Loki cleared his throat,  "Can we find me a family?", he asked. Blue shoved him gently and playfully, "You have one! And you know who your birth family is!", she said laughing, "Exactly", he stated in a sassy tone, then laughed with her. Spyro listened as the two joked around. He sighed quietly. He didn't trust Loki, he was taking his best friend! His sister....he couldn't let that happen. He wasn't good for her, he couldn't get the events of last year out of his head, ' "We need to do something Hiccup...we can't just stop and leave her!", Spyro pleaded with Hiccup and the riders. "Spyro we need to be careful...Loki has her. There's no telling what he'll do..", Astrid tried to reason with a rather impatient Spyro. "Or what he has already done...", Spyro responded in a very serious tone. Astrid sighed and gave him a concerned look. She knew. She knew all too well what Loki has probably already done to her. Though she was trying to stay calm and hopeful, not just for her sake...but for the teams' sake. Spyro turned to Hiccup again, "I'm getting Blue away from him. He won't get the chance again" '

Spyro's thoughts were interrupted by Blue calling him, "Spyro it's almost evening. We should land and rest for the night". Spyro shook his head, not realising how much time had passed by. He spotted an island and flew down towards it. He landed quite roughly, still not completely detached from his memory of when Blue had been captured by Loki and the dragon hunters. "Woah! Spyro...you gotta work on your landing there buddy...Loki is new to the whole dragon riding thing remember..?", Blue said sounding slightly shocked. Spyro finally snapped back to reality, "Oh sorry...sorry I was somewhere else..", he explained with his head hanging low. Blue looked at his saddened expression. "Spyro..? Are you okay..?" she asked gently. placing a caring hand on his shoulder, dropping to one knee. He looked into her concerned eyes, about to confess his distrust towards Loki. "I'm fine! Just tired..", he said, faking a happy smile. She gave him a soft smile, "That's okay, Loki and I will get fire wood and you can rest here...no arguments", she ordered him to rest. He was about to protest but he knew it wouldn't work. He decided not to argue with her and let her go. She wasn't exactly 'crushing' on Loki right now. Or so he thought. Blue lead the way. Loki following her every footstep. It wasn't dark yet, the sun was only just beginning to set, making the sky a beautiful dusty orange colour. There were only a few clouds, and even they showed that the sun was setting, as they were a pink purple colour. The tall evergreen trees towered over the two as they walked over thick roots and loose branches.

"Are you okay...?", Loki asked Blue, breaking the silence. She smiled, "I'm fine..look about last night..", she started. "No..look I'm sorry..I shouldn't have. I guess I'm not used to comforting people...or having people comfort me..", he explained. She stopped in her tracks, "It's okay..I was upset and in shock....I shouldn't have snapped..", she said as she turned to him. He smiled, "I suppose we shall forgive and forget..?", he asked. A tone of hope in his voice. She nodded. "Thank you. For coming with me. You didn't have to do that...I really appreciate it", she said looking down shyly. He laughed softly, "I think it's fair to say I owe it to you...I was not so kind a year ago..", she didn't respond. She just gave him a small smile and continued walking. The two began to collect fire wood, separating a little. They joined again, "Um...Loki?", Blue started, her arms full of wood. "Yes darling?", he responded, also carrying lots of wood. "Eh..It's..um..it's Blue and um..that's not fire wood...", she stated blankly. He looked down at the wood like an innocent child, "Yes it is! Look it's just like yours!", he said defensively. She giggled a little, "Oh Loki..yeah um no..that wood is soaked...it won't light..", she said mocking him slightly. He threw the wood down in front of himself like a child starting a tantrum. "Why can't we just use magic?", he said frustrated. She sighed, "Because..we don't need magic..we can't rely on our magic..", she tried reasoning with him. He shook his head, "Fine, but the next camp fire shall be awakened by magic!", he said in a funny accent. She laughed, "Alright Mister wizard...you can knock yourself out with magical fire tomorrow night", she said handing him some wood to carry. He looked down at her as she passed the wood into his arms, his line of sight never leaving her face.
