Chapter 15:
"Blue hold on a second!", Spyro said as he tried to keep up with her. Blue made her way to her room, gathering the weapons she had. "Do you really think going after Draven is a good idea?", Spyro asked nervously. "I have no choice! The guy is a lunatic! If I don't stop him now, he might hurt someone I care about..", she explained walking past him, heading for the door. "Yes. But you don't know that much about him!", Spyro tried his best talking her out of it. Loki spoke up, "For once the dragon is right, you talked to this guy a couple of times, and both times it's ended in a fight...", he backed Spyro. "Loki. This guy has been preparing for this fight almost his entire life.... I know enough. I'm going after him before he hurts someone to get my attention", she said sternly. Loki sighed, "I'm going with you", he said. Before Blue could protest, Spyro spoke up, "Well you're not going anywhere without me!", he stated proudly. Blue smiled softly, "Thanks guys....I mean it...", suddenly Conal threw his cloak over his shoulders and lifted his chin slightly, looking very dramatic, "My daughter isn't going anywhere without her father....", everyone paused and looked at him, not so impressed. Conal looked at them, "Too much..?", he asked. Seán cleared his throat, "A little...yeah...", Conal just nodded slightly embarrased.
"Dad you don't need to-", Blue started. "No Blue. I am your father. I lost you once, I couldn't protect you all those years ago. But now...at least I can try", he said, still trying to sound heroic and dramatic. "Okay, I don't think there's much point in trying to talk you out of it so...", she accepted. "Well lads! You aren't going to take down a crazy dark magic man without us!", Seamus shouted joyfully. "Alright fine! But no one else, hopefully we can try SNEAK up on Draven.....even though there seems to be a whole team of us...", Blue said slightly amused. "An unstoppable team", Spyro stated. Blue looked at her 'team' and took a deep breath, "Let's go get him then", she said with a smirk. The gang gathered weapons and supplies, a map of the forest and a drink to settle Seamus' nerves. Conal left the leader of their small army in charge of the village while they were gone. They left the village by the afternoon, setting out on yet another search, this time looking for their enemy. They had just left the village when they needed to decide which direction to look in.
Blue looked at the map, "We need to think. There's no point in heading around in circles. Where are you hiding Draven....", she spoke to the group. "What about the house...where we first met him?", Loki suggested. Blue nodded, "I suppose it's our best bet, South it is". Blue used her powers to turn to her dragon form. Conal's heart almost stopped but he got over it. The group flew as fast as they could, to the house where Blue, Spyro and Loki met their to be enemy. They landed, Blue transforming back. "You think he's waiting..?", Seamus asked looking terrified while hiding behind Seán. Seán looked at him disgusted, "Stop...", he whispered, in a tone that screamed 'get over yourself'. Blue looked at the house, "He's been waiting nineteen years", she said as she began to walk toward the house. Seamus looked at Seán with wide eyes. Loki walked on Blue's left, while Spyro walked on her right, her Dad and uncles following close behind. She kicked the door down, she wasn't here to play nice. She had her bow at the ready walking in slowly. Loki had his daggers ready, Spyro ready to fire, Conal sword in hand, Seán an axe, and Seamus...well Seamus brought a small knife.
"Draven! I'm here....show yourself...", Blue called out sternly. No one answered. Silence. "He's not here..", Conal said surprised as he came back from searching the small rooms. "What do you want to do Blue?", Loki asked. "Wait. Draven is smart. He knows we're here...he'll be back", the group went outside, to set up camp in the nearby trees, where they could see the house. Blue watched the house like a hawk. The sun was setting, and Draven had still not returned. "Blue I'm gonna get the firewood, you wanna take a break from watch?", Spyro asked. Blue continued to stare at the house, "He'll be back, I'll keep watch", she said bluntly. Spyro gave a worried look, but then nodded to Conal, telling him to keep an eye on her. Conal returned the gesture and sat closer to his daughter. Spyro walked deeper into the forest, looking for suitable firewood. The orange rays of the sun, were gently shining through the trees, it would be dark soon. Spyro had walked far enough that he could no longer see or hear the others.
"Well if it isn't the brother", a voice came out of nowhere. Spyro immediatly got himself into a fighting position. He turned only to see Draven standing on a tree branch, looking at his nails, leaning against the tree casually. "You...", Spyro said more than displeased. "And you!", he jumped down onto the ground, "the little purple dragon...who grew up alongside Blue...like a brother, raised by the same man". Draven showed off his information. Spyro took a step forward, "How do you know all of this..?", he asked. Draven chuckled, "I have my sources and I just love learning new things, don't you?". Spyro became angrier, "Give me one good reason I shouldn't take you down right now?", he said sternly. Draven began to walk toward him, "And not give sis the chance to fufil her destiny? How very selfish of you Spyro...", he responded. "She won't buy into your sick game Draven...", Spyro stood up for Blue. "Where is all this hate coming from Spyro?", he asked innocently. "Well let's just say I've heard you're a bit of an asshole to say the least", Spyro said. "Is that what she thinks of me? Damn....and I thought we were getting along quite well...", he responded. Spyro fired at him, only for Draven to block it with a blast of magic.
"Oof Spyro, that is A LOT of built up anger...that wouldn't have anything to do with finding out your birth family is dead...?", Draven teased. Spyro paused, his eyes going slightly blank. "Or is it because of Blue's new boyfriend..? Loki right..?", Spyro took a step back, surprised at how much Draven knew. "Yeah I mean it must suck. Seeing your sister with a guy you don't like or trust...I'll let you in on a secret. I don't like them together either...personally I think she's far too good for him..", he poked and poked. "They aren't together Draven..", Spyro stated. Draven laughed, "Oh is that why they fucked last night?", Spyro looked at him in pure shock and confusion. "Oh...sorry..Spyro, did she- did she not tell you? Oops my bad, me and my big mouth..god. I'm shocked I thought she cared about you more, ya know thought she would've told you...keep you in the loop. Guess she loves him more", Draven looked up, to see his work, how mad he made Spyro. Spyro took another shot at him, but he vanished before he could hit him. Spyro stood there in awe for a second, his awe slowly turning to anger as he ran back to the camp, his blood boiling.
"WE'RE YOU EVER GONNA TELL ME?!", he shouted. The group turned around to see the horned dragon racing toward them. Blue stood up, "Tell you what?", she asked confused. Spyro went straight up to her, barely able to stop himself, "You're with him. You're with him and you didn't bother to tell me, even though I TOLD YOU that I didn't trust him", he half explained. "What are you talking about?", she asked still confused. The whole group standing around them now. "Greasy locks over there! You slept with him...", he said sounding betrayed. Blue and Loki looked to one another. Blue took a deep breath, "Spyro...I-", he interrupted her, "So it's true. You did". Blue stood there shocked at what Spyro was saying. The group around them was silent. "How did you find out Spyro?", she asked. He huffed, "I just met our friend Draven in the woods and he had a lot to say", Spyro explained annoyed. Loki stepped foward, "Wait you saw Draven...?", he asked curiously. "Spyro I'm sorry but it just happened", Blue tried explaining. "Blue you don't need to explain yourself to a dragon", Loki assured her, stepping in. Spyro turned to him, "You're only saying that because you got what you wanted!", he shouted. "Spyro we don't have time for this! Where's Draven now?", Blue asked in a desperate attempt to catch up. Spyro shook his head, "He's gone! He disappeared in a cloud of smoke like the dramatic little bitch he is", he finished.
Spyro stormed off, taking flight. He flew above the trees as darkness fell over the forest. Blue tried to go after him, "Spyro wait! Don't -", she shouted after him. Loki held her back, "Blue stop...let him cool off", he said trying to calm her down. "He'll be back, he just needs time", Conal assured her. "Why is he so angry?! Because I slept with Loki?! Is he serious...?", she tried making sense of what happened. Conal put a hand on her shoulder, "I don't think that's truly what's bothering him sweetheart...".
