The next morning I woke up with a huge headache. I guess it's because of the "process." I'm constantly hearing a static noise in my head, it's so loud it's blocking off most of the outside sounds.

I go downstairs to see everyone eating breakfast. The ringing was so loud I didn't hear when BEN and Jeff told me good morning. I sat down and they were staring at me. I saw Jeff's mouth open but I didn't hear anything.

"WHAT?" I screamed

His mouth opened again and still no sound.

"Jeff I can't hear you!"

He looked at me in confusion and look at BEN. I guess he tried saying something because his mouth opened, yet nothing. I lifted my arms up with a shrug, letting him know I can't hear. I know sign language but do they? I used my hands to make out the words 'there's a ringing in my head, I can't hear anything.' My guess is Jeff got it right away because his mouth was "O" shaped.

He suddenly left the table and a few minutes later came back with Slenderman. Slender put his hand on my forehead, and within a few seconds the ringing was gone and I was able to hear again.

"Oh, I can finally hear again!"

"What was all that about?" Jeff asked.

"I don't know, I woke up with an excruciating headache and then a ringing was in my head. I didn't hear anything."

"Come with me child, we never did finish our conversation from yesterday." Slenderman motioned me to follow him.

We sat in his office and I didn't know how he looked because of course, no facial expressions.

"Alice... you don't have a heartbeat."

"I'm sorry?"

"Yesterday when you woke up, we told you your heart stopped and you were presumed dead. Yet you're now alive. But you never did regain your heartbeat."

I put a hand over where my heart should be and he was right... I didn't feel any thumps against my palm, nor could I hear it.

"I have no heart?"

"No, you have a heart. It's just not beating. I fear the ringing noise you heard was really your flat line."

"Woah that's cool. Am I really immortal now?"

"Yes, and another thing. I must warn you, do not give in."

"Give in to what?"

"I don't know what exactly, but I'm telling you Alice, do. not. give. in."

I nodded my head and decided to make my way back to where Jeff and BEN were. They moved from eating breakfast to sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Hey beautiful," BEN winked

"Hey there," I smiled

"Barf," Jeff joined in

"Oh Jeffy boy you're just jealous Alice and I are going on a date," Ben teased

I saw Jeff tense up a little at that comment.

"You're going on a date?" He gave me a hard look

"Well I mean, yeah he asked me yesterday so later today we're just gonna hang out. Why?

"No reason, I don't care about what you do." He said snottily.

Jeff kept staring at me, and I felt uncomfortable. I decided to leave them be and go shower and get ready.

"Well um... I'm gonna go get ready BEN."

And with that, I walked to my room.
