The VK

I tap my leg with my nails and smooth my dress anxiously.

Ben notices how nervous I look, "Are you okay?"  I nod, "Yeah..I just hope that they get here without trouble."  Ben nods but before he can respond, his annoying girlfriend, Audrey, grabs his arm and smiles up at him, "Hey Bennyboo."  I roll my eyes 

and stare at the street as the limo pulls up.  The driver opens the door and a white haired boy tumbles out, clutching a blue scarf.  A boy with long brown hair and a red beanie tumbles after him and they start fighting over the scarf.  "Oh! Ah! Ow! Stop! You got everything else! Why do you want whatever this is?" The boy with long hair retorts, "Cause you want it!"  I grin.  The boy with white hair had Cruella De Vil written all over him, so he was Carlos, making the boy with long hair Jay, son of Jafar.  The girl with blue hair and clothes- Evie- spins around and gazes adoringly at the school behind us.  The girl with purple hair and purple and green clothes kicks the boys, "Guys, we have an audience."  FGM squeezes in between Ben, Audrey, and I and smiles brightly at the VKs.  "Just cleaning up," Jay says, helping Carlos up.  "Leave it like you found it!" FGM says in a sing-song voice, "And by that, I mean just leave it."

They throw the scarf back inside the limo but Jay suddenly gets a good look at me.  "Hello foxy.  The name's Jay."  I smile

at him, "Nice to meet you."

FGM smiles and awkwardly steps in front of me.  That's what I have named- the Baby Princess Protocol.  Keep Princess Brielle away from prying boys.  Which is basically every boy at this school.  And it's usually not for love.

"Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother, Headmistress."

Mal looks interested, "The Fairy Godmother?  As in bibbity bobbity boo?"

FGM grins, "Bibbity bobbity you know it!"

Mal smiles, "Yeah I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella when you just appeared out of nowhere. With that sparkly wand and warm smile...and that sparkly wand."  I cock my head to the left, smiling at her interest in FGM's wand.  It is pretty cool.  "That was a long time ago, and as I always say, ' don't focus on the past, or you'll miss the future'" FGM says.  She does say that too much.

Finally, Ben is allowed to speak.  He clasps his hands and smiles at the four kids, "It's so good to finally meet you all.  I'm Ben."  Audrey interrupts, "Prince Benjamin.  Soon to be King!"  I stifle an eye roll, but I think my eye twitched.  "And this is my twin sister, Brielle or Brie."  Audrey interrupts again smiling sweetly, "Princess Brielle.  Soon to be Queen."  I give her a fake, tight smile and turn to the VK, giving them a real smile.  Jay winks at me and I blush, looking away.  Evie steps forward and I turn my attention to her, "You had me at Prince.  My mom's a Queen, which makes me a princess." She then curtsies.  Audrey gives her a look, "The Evil Queen has no royal status here and neither do you." 

I can't stand to let Audrey keep talking them down and making everyone uncomfortable and awkward, "Actually, she does have royal status, Audrey.  She is a princess by birth, which applies everywhere."  Audrey looks embarrassed at being corrected by me.  I curtsy to Evie and her face brightens.  She smiles excitedly and whispers in Mal's ear, but I can hear her clearly.

"I like her.  She's gonna be a great friend."

"This is Audrey," Ben laughs awkwardly as he motions to the clingy, quirky girl clutching his arm.  "Princess-"  I cut in again, "I think they understand that you're a princess, Audrey."  Her face falls and she flushes a little before saying, "His girlfriend.  Right, Bennyboo?  And Brie's best friend."  I stare at her inquiringly, "Since when?"  She looks ready to die and FGM jumps in.  "Ben and Audrey are gonna show you all around, and I'll send you tomorrow." FGM tells the VKs. She disconnects Ben and Audrey's hands and I silently mouth, "Thank God!"   "The doors of wisdom are never closed! But the library is open between 8 to 11 and as you may have heard I have a little thing about curfews."

"It is so, so, so nice to finally meet you all." He reaches for Jay's hand, but he punches him in the chest. He shakes Mal's hand, and they stare at each other for a moment.  I shake Jay's hand and he smirks at me.

I shake Mal's hand and she leans forward and whispers in my ear, "Thanks for putting that Audrey in her place."  I grin, "My absolute pleasure."  "This is a momentous occasion." Ben moves down the row to shake Carlos' hand, "And one that I hope will go down in history." He shakes Carlos' hand and then sucks the chocolate off his thumb, "Is this chocolate?"  I shake Carlos' hand, smiling at him and offering a light blue handkerchief.  He takes it, smiling a little, like he's surprised I cared.  Ben shakes Evie's hand, "As the day our two peoples began to heal!"  I beam at Evie and curtsy to her instead of shaking her hand, "Princess Evie."  She looks like she's on Cloud 9 and she graciously curtsy back, "Princess Brielle."  I grin and take a step back to stand next to Ben.

"Or the day you showed five peoples were the bathrooms are," Mal says.  I laugh a little and Ben raises his eyebrows, "A little bit over the top?"  "A little more than over the top," Mal and I say simultaneously.  I laugh at that and she chuckles, giving me a genuine smile.  Audrey interrupts, "Hey! You're Maleficent's daughter aren't you? Yeah, you know what? I totally don't blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff."  I glare at Audrey but she's focused on Mal.

"Oh, my mother's Aurora.  Sleeping-"

"Beauty!" Mal finishes.  "Yeah, I've heard the name. And I totally don't blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world, except my mother, to their stupid christening."

Audrey gives her a fake smile, "Water under the bridge?"  I sharply say, "Audrey!"  She looks startled and she looks down at her shoes.  I grin at the VKs and wink at them.  Best part of being princess- I can put people in their place and not look like a bully.

"Now."  I clap my hands together, smiling, "How about a tour?"
