I sit on the edge of Ben's desk.  "Please tell me you got the early dismissal for the coronation signed," I pray.  He fumbles with something and leans back, groaning, "I thought I gave Jane all of them, but I missed a few.  Including the draft for the seating chart."  I wave him off, "Don't bother with the draft, cause we haven't included the VKs yet.  Just give me the papers and I'll have Fairy Godmother sign them.  Where is FGM?"  He hands them to me, "The Remedial Goodness 101 class."  I jump off his desk and walk away dutifully.  I'd rather do this than be in class.

who's staring at the VKs fearfully.  She sees me behind her and squeals, speed walking forward to FGM, her mother.

I roll my eyes at how scared she is of the VKs.  Evie spins around in her seat as I walk forward and she grins widely and waves.  I grin and wave back.  Mal sends me a smirk over her shoulder and I smirk back.  Carlos wiggles his fingers at me as a wave and Jay leans forward, pushing Carlos back slightly to grin at me.  I wave at Carlos and smile at Jay.  Glad to know we're on good terms.

Fairy Godmother smiles sweetly at Jane and me, "Hello, dear ones."  I smile at her but Jane is quick and all business.  "You need to sign off an early dismissal for the coronation," Jane hurriedly says, handing her a clipboard.

"And I have some more dismissals, too," I say, pointing to my clipboard.

FGM addresses the VKs, "Everyone here remembers my daughter Jane and Princess Brielle."  I quickly wave off the "Princess" part, "You don't have to address me as Princess.  Just Brielle or Brie or any other nickname you can think of is totally fine."

Jane hisses, "Mom, no!"  FGM smiles at her reassuringly, "It's okay.  Jane, this is everyone." FGM turns her around and gives her a little shove.  Jane gasps, "Hi. Don't mind me, as you were." She squeals before fast walking past them again.  FGM signs my papers and turn back to the board.  I step behind the VKs and linger a bit longer, ""You find a vile of poison, do you a) put it in the Kings wine, b) paint it on an apple-"

I smirk and mouth to them when FGM isn't looking, "Totally B."  Mal's mouth drops open at the thought of the Princess painting poison of an apple, Jay nods approvingly, Evie tries not to laugh, and Carlos puts his head on the desk, shaking from holding his laughter.  When FGM turns around, we are all serious again.

"-Or c) turn it over to the proper authorities?"  Evie, Carlos, and Jay raise their hands eagerly.  Jay holds Carlos's hand down and grins when FGM calls on him, "C) you turn it over to the proper authorities."

"I was gonna say that," Carlos whines.

"Well, I said it first."  With the last word, Jay puts Carlos in a headlock and noogies him, which turns into a miniature wrestling match on the table.

"Boys!" FGM exclaims, "I am going to encourage you to use that energy on the tourney field."

"Oh no, that's okay." Carlos dismissed, "Whatever that is, we'll- we'll pass."

"Oh, Carlos.  C'mon, you'll like it.  I wish I could play myself.  Alas, I'm just captain of the cheer-leading team.  Ben plays.  Anyway...I'll still be on the field.  I can show you guys after school for tryouts.  Then you can decide to pass or not."

"I'm in," Jay says.  Carlos just shrugs and leans down in his seat.  I grin triumphantly and spin on my heels to leave.

I start the cheer team with some cartwheels.  I glance over my shoulder to see Jay and Carlos step onto the field.  "Jay! Ben! Offense. Chad you're defense. Taylor you're the shooter" Coach shouts. Coach looks at Carlos, "Hey! Hey, you! Lost boy! Put your helmet on and get out of the kill zone!"  Carlos mouths, "Kill zone?"  He steps out and puts on his helmet.  Coach blows his whistle and practice begins.  Cheer practice is forgotten as Jay breezes past the other team.  We cheer and scream, clapping our hands and chanting, "Jay, Jay, Jay!"  Audrey doesn't cheer and normally I would make her.

But I don't want to stop cheering for even a second.

"Jay! It's me! It's Carlos" Carlos started running for his life. "Jay, stop!"  He falls and blocks his body with the shield.  Jay jumps over him and scores.  He does a hilarious yet cool victory dance and we cheer louder.

"You! Get over here!" Coach points to Jay. He walks over to the coach, "What do you call that?" Coach asks Jay. Oh, boy.  Was Coach mad cause some stupid princes who can't handle a tackle are writhing in pain on the ground?  I race over to hear better.  Jay shrugs and looks at the players as I arrive by his side. "I call that raw talent!"  I relax immediately.  "Come find me later and I'll show you something you've never seen before. It's called the rule book. Welcome to the team, son," Coach claps Jay's arm happily. He turns to Carlos, "You ever thought about band?" Jay laughs and Carlos sarcastically joins in.

"I'll work with him, Coach," Ben promises.  Coach nods slowly, "Let's run that again!"  Jay puts his arm around my shoulders and gives me a side hug.  I laugh and he turns around.  Chad Charming, one of my many pursuers and the most persistent, glares at Jay and his arm around me.  Jay and I smirk at him and as Jay walks by, he bumps into his shoulder.  I hear Chad hiss, "Ouch," before I race over to the cheer team.
