One Kiss

Evie, Mal, and I look all around campus and then go to Audrey's dorm where Uma is flipping through a book and Celia is going through her jewelry.

"She's nowhere on campus," I sigh, hands on my hips. Uma holds up the pink book, "Found her diary. And dang, did you ruin Audrey's life." Mal looks annoyed, "Okay. So did you find anything in there that we don't already know or..."

"She hangs out at Fairy Cottage. You know, where Flora, Fauna and Merryweather hid her mom from your mom." I gotta hand it to Mal- she's trying not to lose it and is succeeding. "Yes. Hah ha ha. The irony is not lost on me." Uma snuggles into the bed, "How could anyone with this bed ever be unhappy?" Celia turns to face us, "Okay. How do I look?" She's wearing a tiara, pearl necklace, several rings, and a couple bracelets. Evie says firmly, "Okay. The bling stays here."

"But she's bad."

"And we're not."

We go to Evie's "starter castle" and Mal sighs, "I really hope they found Ben." Uma marvels at the castle, "Nice digs."  Evie smiles, "I got a really good deal."  We go inside and see the twins sleeping soundly next to each other.  Dizzy is twisting and turning, clearly having a bad dream.  Celia tries to calm her down, "It's okay. Shh! It's okay."  She spreads a red blanket over them, "Don't worry, Dizzy. We can fix this. And once we do, they're gonna let all the kids come from the Isle. So, happy dreams."  I am instantly touched by Celia's devotion to her friends.

We hear a loud snore from another room and we race towards the sound.  We stop and I cover my mouth when I see Doug sleeping on the floor.  Uma frowns, "Uh, who's the dude?"  Evie rushes to his side, "Doug. Doug. Wake up. Wake up."  Uma reminds her, "He's spelled."  Tunring to me and Mal, she asks, "Is she not a fast learner?"

I roll my eyes and Mal says, "She's emotionally involved, okay?"  Uma shrugs, "Well, in that case, she should be able to wake him up."  Evie looks confused.  "True love's kiss," Uma says, referring to Cotillion.  "Works every time," I add.  Evie sheepishly says, "Well, we haven't used the "L" word yet."  We nod slowly.  She bends closer and then asks, "Can we be alone?"

We shrug and leave, but then circle back as Evie starts singing.

She leans over Doug and kisses him.  He lets out another snore and she looks away, hurt that it didn't work.  He wakes up and Evie spins around.  He pretends to go back to sleep and she huffs, folding her arms and refusing to look at him.  He nudges her and they smile at each other.
