We enter Dr. Facilier's Voodoo Arcade. I always wanted to meet Dr. Facilier since our parents told us stories about his friends from the other side. Celia races towards her father, squealing, "Daddy!" He cackles and lifts her up, "There she is! Come on." They start dancing and he hugs her again, "Come here, you little rascal."
I was happy to see her father loved her. It was comforting- knowing some villains really did love their kids.
As Celia goes for the key, Jay and I look around the arcade. He keeps a hand on my back as if reassuring himself that I'm still there. When Mal went back to the Isle and we went with Ben to bring her back, Ben and I got captured by Uma and her goons. Every since, he was really skeptical about me going back even though we haven't seen Uma since Cotillion.
Carlos turns on a TV and I hear a reporter say, "Alerts of the sleeping spell keep coming in as it spread throughout Auradon."
Sleeping spell? Audrey!
Carlos calls us over and Celia and her father join us.
"There are rumors that Sleeping Beauty's daughter, Audrey, is behind the spell. We're trying to discover who is responsible for these vicious lies, and which villain has perpetrated this evil. We have an update. It's what? It's moving this way? It is moving this way!" Even the reporter is panicking.
"Come on, guys. Let's go get our bikes," Evie instructs. We go outside...only to find Harry and his crew on our bikes.
"Wow! Rookie mistake?" Carlos snaps as we race towards the bikes. "Long time nay see," Harry wickedly grins. "Get off my bike, Hook," Jay growls. "Catch me if you can, Jay," Harry sings and cackles as they drive off.
Jay perks up, "The roofs! Cut em off!" Evie and Carlos go one way and Jay and I go the other. But when we reach the alley, Harry is driving off. I gasp for air, shaking my head, "It's no use. We can't outrun the bikes."
He sighs, "Come on. Let's go meet up with Mal and the others at the barrier."
When we get to the barrier, Mal has the ember. I breath a sigh of relief and we walk to the barrier.
"Get in, get out. Jay, you're good?" "Yeah." He presses the button and the barrier opens. As we cross, Mal gasps and there's a little blue mixed in with her purpleness.
"Whoa. You got a little Hades thing going," I grin. "That thing packs a punch, huh?" Carlos admires. As the hole in the barrier closes, Harry Hook and Gil tumble through. It's too late to push them back. The barrier is closed.
They laugh and celebrate their success. Seeing us gaping at them, Harry explains, "Hey, guys. We're just coming for a wee visit." Carlos and Jay push them back and they do the same, causing the ember to fall out of Mal's hand. When she picks it up, Harry knocks it out of her hand again and sends it towards the water.
A tentacle grabs the ember and Uma rises up from the depths of the ocean. She shakes her braids and smirks, "Drop something?"
"It can't get wet! Give it back before it goes out!" Harry and Gil are shocked, "Uma?" She grins, "That's my name." She goes back under water and Mal cries, "No!"
Just as we're absolutely sure our one chance to save Auradon was destroyed by that slimy sea witch, Uma appears as a human behind us, "Hi, boys." Harry cackles as they approach her, "Welcome back." Gil seems hurt, "Uma, you swam off and forgot all about us." Her smile is temporarily frozen.
"Yeah. Planning her revenge, no doubt," Mal snaps. "It's not all about you, Mal. I was looking for a hole in the barrier to let everybody out. And you know what I found, boys? It's way better out there than we thought. There's this thing that looks like a furry rock called a coconut. And fish so big you could dance on their backs. And they've been keeping it all for themselves."
I sigh, "Uma, for the love of God, my brother and I are trying to let everyone out!" Uma smirks, "And how long will that take?" Mal interrupts, "Whatever. Uma, I need that to break a spell." Carlos explains, "Cast by Audrey, Sleeping Beauty's daughter." Uma cocks her head, "Mm. So the good guy is the bad guy?"
She laughs and sighs happily, "Well, I might not give it back. Let's see what happens." Mal yells, "Uma, it's not the time for games! People's lives are in danger!"
Uma thinks for a minute, "Guarantee me that every single villain kid who wants to can get off the Isle."
"Done," I say and Uma raises her eyebrows. "What?! Brielle, no! We can't!" Uma rolls her eyes and holds the ember over the ocean, "Well, how about now?" Mal cries, "Deal! Deal."
Uma goes to drop it but I yell, "Uma! My word is good and so is Mal's. Any kid who wants to live in Auradon will live in Auradon."
Uma puts the ember in her jacket, "I'll still keep this...for the time being. Because if you think I trust you to save the world on your own- think again. This is a job for pirates."
Jay grabs Mal's arm, "We can always go back to hating each other when this is over." I nod and Mal huffs, "Fine." I narrow my eyes at Harry as he blows me a kiss. Jay puts himself in front of me and asks, "Where are our bikes? Gil snickers, "Oh, yeah. We crashed them." Harry laughs and mimics them crashing the bikes. My mouth drops open and Jay rolls his eyes.
"Here's a thought." We turn to look at Evie as she speaks, "We could try to be friends. Put our history behind us and celebrate our differences. Yeah?" She pulls out a red bag of blue gumballs, "Who wants gum?"
Uma sneers and says, "Let's go." They start walking, but Mal stops her, "No. I'm in charge. Let's go." We start walking but I already know those two are going to butt heads and might get in the way of us actually saving Auradon. And I definitely don't trust that sea witch as far as I can throw her.
