Chapter 6

The next morning went smoothly. Mike had made a loud "BOO" sound which made Will wake up (from a very nice dream ;)) with a startled face. Soon he threw a pillow in Mike's face as revenge for making him wake up like that.

After the two boys got changed in their clothes, Mike's mom called them for breakfast. They sat down, while Karen served the pancakes she had happily baked.

"Thank you Karen", Will said

"No problem sweetie! Enjoy", the woman smiled

And so he started to eat, with Mike next to him and Mike's little sister, Holy, in the seat opposite him. Mike's older sister Nancy wasn't there. Will knew that she was working at hawkins post with his brother Jonathan. So it made sense she wasn't home right now. He liked Nancy a lot. She's the kind of sister who would be there for you if you have problems. She would help you through them and give you advise. That's why Will doesn't understand why Mike complained about her all the time. He probably doesn't wanna show that he actually loves his sister a lot, Will thought.

Then a phone rang, snapping Will out of his thoughts. He watched Karen approaching the phone, picking up.

After a few minutes the woman hung up and walked towards Will.

"Will honey, it was your brother Jonathan, he said he was coming to pick you up in 15 minutes"

Will gave her a confused look. Isn't Jonathan working? , He wondered in his mind. Before he could reply the woman in front of him, he heard Mike's beautiful voice, who makes his heart beat faster every time he hears it.

"What?! Noo! Does he have to go already??" Mike exclaimed.

"Unfortunately yes, but don't worry Mike, you still have a whole summer to hang out with Will!"

"Yes", Will said, "Your mom is right, we can still do m-more sleepovers and stuff... I-if you want"

"Are you kidding me? Ofcourse I do! Next one is at your house Byers!" he smiled, Will's heart making a little jump of excitement.

"Can't wait", he smiled back.

"Okay Mike, so will you help Will to collect his stuff?", Mike's mom asked

"Yes mom I will"

"Good", she gave the boys one last smile before she left the room.

Will was sad that he already had to leave soon. Jonathan was picking him up in about 5 minutes now and the small boy wasn't looking forward to it. For so long he finally had an amazing night again! And now it's already over.

Will's stuff was prepared in front of the door. Mike didn't finish his pancakes before so he was doing it now, while they both waited for Jonathan.

Will's eyes were on the boy who was peacefully eating.

Then after hesistating a few minutes Will said, "T-This will repeat... R-right?"

Mike looked up, meeting Will's hazel eyes and smiled bright, "Ofcourse Will! I had a lot of fun, hell yes this will repeat!"

This made the Byers boy blush, he looked down with a shy smile. Mike continued eating. "Cute" he thought after seeing Will's shy smile. But he rubbed off the thought soon away. Why would he call his best friend cute?

Will suddenly thought at the fun fair on 4th July. His mind got the amazing idea of Mike sleeping over with him that night! It would be so fun! They could watch the fireworks together. Will's cheeks got a darker shade at the thought. But how was he going to ask that to Mike. Fun fair, eating, fireworks and then sleepover... It kinda sounded like a date. Will's eyes widened. Okay now he has definitely not the guts to ask Mike.

Ugh Will what are you thinking! It is not a date. The party will be there so no it's not gonna be a date!! Mike has a girlfriend! How can you think that-

Will could mentally slap himself, why does he have to see his best friend in that way- It's just not right. But... If they just had a normal sleepover after the fun fair. Just as friends. That was okay... Right? Yes ofcourse it is! Just two friends having a sleepover. Okay, now was Will satisfied and ready to ask Mike out- uh just ask Mike!!

Will looked up at Mike, he had finished his breakfast and was now drinking his glass of milk.

"Uhmm... M-mike?"

"Yes Will what is it?", he turned his face to the smaller boy.

Will took a deep breath. "W-well I-I w-was w-wondering... If uhm, y-you m-maybe would l-lik-

Will got cut off by a doorbell, the boys looked up at the door.

Will sighed, that was Jonathan. He stood up, so did Mike and went to the front door that Karen already had opened.

"Hi bud", Will's brother greeted.

"Hey Jonathan", Will said back, trying to be happy to see him.

"Do you have all your stuff?"

"Yes here!", Mike replied before Will could, handing over his back pack

"Thanks", Will smiled.

"So what did you wanted to ask me?", Mike asked

Will got nervous again, he looked at Jonathan who stood there with them. He didn't dare to ask Mike for a sleepover with his presence. Although it was a very normal thing to ask but... In Will's eyes it wasn't.

"Uh- uhm.. I-I forgot", Will nervously smiled

"Oh, well I hope you'll remember it soon! You can always call me on our walkie talkies!"

"Yes.. yes I will Mike"

"Then I guess I'll see you soon Byers!", he poked Will's arm playfully.

"Yes see you soon", Will said while looking shyly at the ground.

And then, out of nowhere, Will felt two warm arms surrounding his body. Mike was hugging him!

A hundred alarms went of in Will's mind, he was completely frozen of Mike's sudden close contact.

"I missed you Will", Mike whispered and this made Will melt. He tighed the hug and smiled bright. Feeling a blush on his cheeks, god Mike had him crazy!

When Mike pulled back, Will had the urge to wrap his arms around him again! Being in Mike's arms just felt... So right, they felt save and warm. They felt like, home.

Will had this stupid smile on his face when Jonathan snapped him out if his thoughts, "Are u still coming Will?"

Will turned his gaze off Mike and looked at his brother, who was now waiting at the car.

"Yeah I'm coming!"

He looked back at Mike
"Goodbye Mike", he shyly smiled

"Goodbye Will", Mike smiled back, as he watched the small boy walking towards his brother's car.

How adorable.
