Chapter 13

-July 4th-

Today is the day. The fun fair will open, and exactly at midnight the fireworks will shoot into the sky, celebrating July 4th.

Will Byers was really excited for tonight. Not only would he watch the fireworks with Mike (and the whole party ofcourse but he liked to imagine they would be alone with him yeet) they will also hang out the next whole day! Above all the excitement, Will was also nervous. He now was looking and searching in his closet over the pas half hour. He never spends that much time in picking a good outfit. But for tonight he wanted to look good. Or rather adorable. He wanted Mike to find him adorable again! So his outfit must be perfect.

After having analized each clothing he had, the smaller boy had finally made a descision. He picked a light grey button up shirt (with short sleeves ofcourse) and a pair of bleu jeans shorts. Will wasn't all satisfied of the whole look, he personally thought he looked cuter with a hoodie, exspecially when it was larger than him. But now it was summer, it would be weird to show up with a hoodie in these hot days. So the boy decided to keep the outfit he had chosen. For his shoes he didn't had much choice, he always wears his grey adidas. It kinda was his only pair of shoes, so Will put them on.

Not much afterwards, Will found himself carefully brushing his bowl cut. He didn't want to have any knots in it!

When Will looked into the mirror to analize his final result, he thought he missed something. He took a closer look at his face, and noticed his lips were a bit dry. Suddenly, Will had the urge to grab one of his mother's lipsticks and apply a smal layer on his lips . He always wanted to experience the feeling of having any lipstick or lipgloss on his lips. But he didn't dare to try it out... Because he's a boy... And boys don't do that.

The Byers boy slowly closed the door of his room as he walked out. He went to the living room where he heard a knock from the front door.

Hopper. He assumed. And indeed, as he opened the door he laid his eyes on the one and only one chief of Hawkins, Jim Hopper. His mother mentioned earlier that he would pick them up to the fair. Will was fine with that, but as more as he thought about it. Hopper and his mother were pretty close these weeks.

"Hi kid! How are you doing?" He greeted, ruffling Will's hair.

"F-fine, thanks" Will said, fast fixing his hair again.

Not a 5 seconds later, his mom, Joyce Byers joined them at the front door.

"Hopper hey!" She smiled, receiving a hello back from Hopper.

"Come in!" She said, grabbing his arm and leading him inside.

Will sighed at the look at this, he wanted to leave now. He wanted to meet up with Mike now.
Joyce noticed the annoying look on her son's face and asked Hopper:

"Eleven is with you right?"

"Yes, she's waiting in the car", the chief replied.

Joyce bend over to face her son better and softly said,
"Will, honey, you can wait with Eleven in the car. Hopper and I are just going to have a quick talk and then we'll come to the car and leave all together for the fair, alright?"

Will just nodded and made his way out the room, meeting the warm summer breeze of the evening.
He quiqly walked over the car in front of him and opened its car door. There he laid eyes on a very good looking Eleven. The girl wore a nice yellow dress with matching hair clips in her hair and Will also noticed the thin layer of lipgloss on her lips. El smiled at him and even that smile made her shine more in her perfect look.

Will wanted to drown right there into the ground and never come back. She was so much more beautiful and prettier AND cuter comparred to him! How was Will even supposed to impress Mike in some way if a model like Eleven would be in their way. And that's where the negative thoughts started talking again,

But Eleven is Mike's girlfriend! Those two are official. You have no reason to try to impress him or look good because he's already with someone. You're going to end up as a manstealer Will. You don't want that huh? Why can't you be normal and fall for damn girls huh?

The Hopper girl had noticed that Will spazed out and called his name. Will immediately looked up and forced a smal smile. He took seat next to Eleven and closed the door. And at that moment Will thought about all the positive things about the girl next to him except the fact she was dating Mike. That little fact still hurted like hell.

"Is everything alright Will?" She asked, with the most smoothest voice Will only could dream of.

"Yeah! O-ofcourse. I'm just eh a little nervous hehe"

"Me too Will, this is my first fair ever! But Mike told me there's nothing to worry about. It will be fun"

"So uhm, do you think those two..." Will gestured at his house where in the window you could see a silhouette that belonged to Hopper.
Eleven first looked confused at the Byers boy, because of his sudden change of subject. But Will couldn't help it. If they would stay talking about the fun fair, then there was a big chance that El would envolve her boyfriend into the conversation, which she was already doing.

She finally said, "I don't know, they visit each other a lot now you say so."
Then Eleven's face turned into a bright smile and Will frowned by the sudden look of that.
"Will imagine! If they will be together than we'll become kinda siblings!"

"Ohmygod you're right El" Will responded with full excitement... Which slowly dissappeared after he realized that meant that Eleven and Hopper would move in with them and whenever El and Mike had a 'date' he would come to his house to pick up El most of the time and if Will had planned a sleepover with Mike he was a 99% sure Mike would be more spending time with el than with him...

"Finally, there they are!" Eleven announced. Will looked up and tried to erase that thought out of his mind. He watched how his mother and Hopper entered the car.

"Okay kiddos, are y'all ready to leave?" Hopper said.
Will nodded and heared El yelling a loud "YES" which startled him a bit. And before he knew they were driving in direction of the fair, and Will sat there, praying for a fun night.

HIIII i'm not dead i promise!! I'm just in the middle of my exams right now and i was so busy with school before, which explains this VERY late update. But anyways here it is! Hope you enjoy it and sorry for the wait! U never have to worry if i'm inactive for a while, i'll always come back, cuz i certainly want to finish this story :))
