Chapter 1

I'm trying to be okay, I'm trying to be alright.
But seeing you with her just don't feel right.

These are Will's thoughts whenever he sees the "lovely" couple Mike and Eleven.

The truth is that Will has a big crush on his best friend, Mike Wheeler. Ever since he met him in kindergarten, he feels this special way when he's around Mike and only Mike. It took a while for the little boy to realize his feelings for the black haired boy. But when El and Mike started dating, Will was sure that he saw Mike more than just a friend. But as days went by, Will started to accept that his chances with Mike were impossible ...

Today he was gonna suffer again, because he and the whole party decided to hang out at the Starcourt Mall where he had to face Mike and El being lovebirds. The whole time.

The party walked into the mall, all together. But of course, Mike and El behind, giggling, whispering ...
Dustin proposed to get an ice cream at Scoops ahoy. Probably so he could see Steve or how he calls him: "My second mom".

The group entered the little ice cream parlor. Robin, a girl with short, dirty blonde hair, who works as an employee there, noticed their presence and yelled at Steve: "HEY DINGUS YOUR CHILDREN ARE HERE".

Steve ran out the kitchen and immediately greeted Dustin, Lucas and Max as Eleven and Mike took a seat at a table.

"Did you get it?!", Dustin asked Steve. "It was hard, but I succeeded", Steve answered with a proud tone in his voice. "Come on I'll show you". Steve walked towards the kitchen, signing at Dustin, Max and Lucas to follow him. So they did, leaving Will behind.

Will stood there a bit insecure. He didn't know what he was supposed to do. He looked over at the kitchen and then turned back to Mike and Eleven. His friends were in the kitchen, doing something with Steve where he was definitely not involved with and joining Mike and Eleven was also no option. It would only make him suffer more.

The brown haired boy was staring unconsciously at the couple, his back turned to Robin.

"Hey are you gonna order or what?", Robin said a bit irritated. Will startled and turned back to the girl who was waiting for his order. "Oh- I'm s- sorry-", Will stuttered. "It's okay", Robin answered with a smile. "What would you like to have?", she asked.
"I would like to have Mik- uh- uhm- a-", Robin giggled while Will was searching the right words. "a- scoop of uh strawberry ice cream", Will finally said. Robin nodded and Will watched her scooping his ice cream. "That's 2 dollars please", she handed him his ice cream.

Will wasn't paying attention when he gave her 10 dollars and walked away without receiving his change.

The boy looked around as he saw El signing at him to come over.

Even though Eleven was dating the boy he loves, she still became one of his closest friends. El helped Will a lot with going through all the stuff that had happened to him, these past 2 years. Eleven is super cool and sweet towards Will and he is really thankful to have a friend like her. The only thing that bothers the smaller boy is that, she is the reason Mike stopped hanging out with him ...

Will obviously didn't want to sit with them, but he had no other choice. So Will gave the girl a little smile and walked over to join them.

Once he sat down the table, he became the third wheel... as always. The couple was giggling and whispering things to each other while Will just sat there eating small bites of his ice cream. And again, he felt really invisible and left out.

Then someone called Wills name, the boy looked up to see where the voice came from. He saw Robin in front of him, holding some dollars.

"You gave me 10 dollars, little kid. I appreciate that you KNOW I'm very good in my job and wanna show that by giving me tips, but hey, I can't accept that much", she laughed. "Oh- I uh I'm sorry", Will said. "You don't have to say sorry!", she gave his change back and smiled at Will.

Suddenly Mike stood up, holding hands with Eleven. Robin noticed Will glancing at their handholding and then looking back down. Mike announced that they were going back home. "Do you come too?", Eleven asked Will. "Oh yes sure", he replied, not knowing what else he could answer. Will stood up so they all could leave. But something was bothering Robin.

Robin's pov

As I see them leaving, I start to worry about Will. It is pretty obvious he has a crush on the black haired boy. Mike, is his name I think. And it looks like he's suffering a lot by just watching them. I know this is none of my business but I can't ignore it. I have to do something.

End Robin's pov

Before she knew what she was doing, she yelled the taller boy's name: "MIKE, WAIT UP". Mike turned back and gave her a confused look. Robin walked up to him. She gave Will and El a look that she wanted to talk privately with Mike. So the boy and girl walked further, curiously looking at each other.

Before Mike could question her what was going on, Robin said: "Dude! Don't you see your friend is feeling really horrible at the moment?"
