Howling !! long and deep startled me awake, Sebastian already jumping to his feet and running down the hall outside. The kids thankfully are still sleeping, not even noticing the noise outside as I check on them making sure they're alright.
Standing at the back door looking out, Seb and the man all in different spots as if creating a board of protection.
Sebastian, what is it? " I ask linking him
"Bears" he links back
"Bear's okay well then take the shotgun and scare them off" I link back staying inside.
"No, baby I mean Bear Shifters, their humans in bear form," he tells me
my jaw completely hitting the floor "WHAT?" I link and say out loud in disbelief.
"Alpha, should we approach them" Sam links us so I can hear him.
"We wait, there just watching us from the fence line" Seb links back.
"What do you think they want, Alpha," Mikey asks.
"Don't know" ... "yet" he links us all
Sam and Sebastian walk back in standing in the kitchen where they can see out watching but allowing them to talk without anyone else to hear, but me, except that their whispers are more like breaths of fine air. my ears have a hard time catching anything, their eyes meet a few times give each other a look of concern and understanding.
"Bear, Alpha doesn't normally show up like this in fact I had long believe where were the last of our kind as wolves or even shifters" Sam speaks to Sebastian
"yes, I haven't seen any trace of them in centuries we will have to negotiate things with them slowly and carefully until we know more, either way, I won't trust them until they prove it. " Seb mumbles back
"So, what do we do Alpha" sam ask looking at him then back out the windows.
"now we confront them and have the leader step out." Seb says reaching for the door
"no, Alpha you stay here with Luna she needs you, I will go and confront the leader" sam say almost demanding
I automatically feel cautious on the matter, having dealt with a trader so close in the last days. I can't exactly trust another beta needing to prove himself. I sigh letting them know I am right behind them waiting and listening.
"Baby, come here" Seb calls me
"What's going on," I asked walking up to both the men standing there guarding us.
"I need you to take the kids, I'll have a few guys go with you If things go so Can you do that?"
"what, no we are fine here" I demand
"baby, Bear shifters as animals are deadlier than us wolves, and I would need to know you are safe with the kids, and head to the airport back to Ireland if.. and I mean it. IF THEY are here to ATTACK" he looks at me with eyes that ask if I understand.
I nod, " I already have emergency bag's at the ready, for something like this," I say softly
he grins pulling me in "that's my girl, I love you," he says kissing me
I nod kissing him back before pulling away to stand in his arms and watching sam step out and walking the distance to the back fields to speak to the bears.
"Animals or human, my shotgun will stop a few if needed," I say not budging from the idea of defending myself and my family now.
Seb nods pulling me into his arms as we lookout. I can tell Seb's linking sam for details as so far not looking happy about something.
