Bonus Ch. 3

The kids all lined up taking a seat on our oversized family sofa centered in the room. Maria nodding to me letting me know she was ready for me to share our family secret. 

I sighed a deep breath knowing this was going to be a lot to take in. But it was there chose and it needed to be soon or they'd never get another chance, at least not one that would allow them a safe life as a shifter.  If passed the age when a shifter would change and if bitten it would be a cursed life and a life of pain and horror. but at their young age, 15 was the time their body would allow for the change and then adapt to it allowing for there power and human self to bond. 

I wish we could wait until they were 21 or even older, but time wasn't a gift we shifters had. It was now or never, one of my children was days from there 15th birthday, my son and Gavin were already 15. time was fleeting. 

I took another sip of my whiskey and began. 

"Okay, so I won't sugar coat this to mush but you need to know that before I go any further, this stays here its a family matter and only use and the pack needs to know, your school friends and anyone else outside this family can NOT know anything, is that clear" I demanded using my alpha authority knowing it had no effect on them yet. but having them hear it might just shake them a bit to know how serious this was going to be. 

"yes, yeah of course" the three almost in unison replied. 

"good, now as you know my self and a few members of this family go hunting every month or so,  we alternate we allow everyone or some to go at a time while others stay and protect your mother and siblings. DO you know why?" I ask measuring what they may already know or not. 

"no",  "No!" , "Maybe" to my surprise was that Gavin had answered maybe 

"Maybe? what do you think is the reason" I asked him

"since I was a kid, you have had this unexplainable shadow over you, I mean your a nice guy but there's a kind of a.... um.. scary factor to you I could never explain and the hunting kind just adds to the mystery." he said 

His mother's eye showing there surprise as my shoulders pulled back confirming his ideas of me, yes I did have a shadow looming over me, but it had no longer been a curse but a gift since the last century. 

"so Sebastian what is this all about, just tell us because I for one need to know" Gavin spoke up again 

I hesitated only a moment then began" what I am going to tell you will sound like a fiction novel or a joke, believe me, it is not fiction or a joke, your mother knows and has been exception of it and I hope that you three will be too, but the things are we are on limited time and the offer I give you will need to be answered before the year is up, or before you turn 16. "

the gasped a bit looking at each other then back to me. " what.. What is it" 

"it's better to show you then explain," I said 

Maria looking at me asking me what her eyes if I think this was best. 

nodding I had a few pack members enter shouting the doors and blocking any way in or out. 

"Okay, so don't freak out you aren't in any danger do you all understand," I asked 

their faces looking more worried then before "Dad, what's going on," My daughter asked standing up wanting to run

"Sweetheart, you're safe, trust me," I said trying to comfort her, Maria taking her hand holding her close

"Guys, trust us we would never allow anything to happen to you, you are our whole world but are world is very different so different that it important you know and make the decision to be apart of it or not"
