"Hey, Aksel! How're you doing?" Matthias asked into the phone he pressed up to the side of his face. "You been hanging in there?" He was speaking in his native tongue, by the way.
He waited, listened, and nodded with a grin on his face. "That's great! Sorry that I can't come by and check up on you in person... I'm kinda stuck here until further notice.
"Hey! I just got a great idea!" he exclaimed, his face lighting up like a Christmas tree. Living around Finland, he knew all about those. "You should come here for a little bit! You know, you don't have to stay that long if you don't wanna. But still! We can hang out for a little bit and that can be me checking up on you like I'm supposed to."
Apparently whoever was on the other end didn't really think that was the best idea, and it took Denmark a fair amount of pleading and heckling to get the answer he wanted. Finally, who he was talking to agreed to make a little stop by and say hi.
"Sweet! Oh, and can you bring some beer over, pleeease? This German stuff I'm stuck with doesn't really sit too well with me. It'd be cool of you~ Thanks! Okay, I'll see you tomorrow!"
He hung up, looking far too pleased with himself, and sauntered off to go tell the others the good news.

"Oh, he's coming here?" Tino repeated, looking up from where he sat with Sealand in his lap. A look of slight worry crossed his face. "Are you sure he'll be okay since Russia and Germany are also here?"
"Yeah," Matthias replied with a flippant wave of his hand. "Completely fine. He's a toughie, and all of that was literally a century ago!"
"Mm," Berwald intoned in agreement from his place by the door. "'S'nice that he's comin' t' see ya, though."
"Right?" Matthias agreed excitedly. "He never gets outta the house, seriously! And hey, I gotta admit, I kinda want him and Alice to meet."
"Oh, there's an idea," Tino said, falling silent for a moment while he thought hard on the matter. "They would probably become friends pretty quickly."
"I'm such a genius~!" he said contentedly with a smirk as he left.

Instead of by plane, the newcomer arrived by car, having taken a boat from his home to the mainland. When he stepped out, he barely even had the chance to take in his surroundings before he was crushed in a huge Danish hug.
He patted his older brother on the back and smiled at the affection. "Hi, Matthias. How're you doing?"
"You're finally frikkin' here!" Matthias exclaimed, pulling back to grin at his little bro. "Took ya long enough, Aksel!"
"Hey, I don't like flying," Aksel reminded him. "And I promise you that I'm fine. I don't really think this whole excursion was entirely necessary."
"Of course you don't. You almost never leave the house," Matthias reminded him. "But that's okay, 'cause I forgive since you're here now! And now I won't be as bored!"
Aksel grinned, breaking out of the hug to shoulder his overnight bag. "Beer's in the trunk, by the way."
"You are the best," Denmark said gratefully, scurrying around the car to pop open the trunk.
