There were four cubes.

Four.

With only four countries still missing, it meant that Canada was in there somewhere!

Oh, but that wasn't the thing that really had me worried.

There were a lot of enemy agents down there, and they were guarding the prisons with all kinds of weapons. I think I saw a bazooka in the arms of one of the taller W.O.R.L.D. guys, to be honest.

I could only thank my lucky stars that we had been rather silent when we emerged on the catwalk that gave us a perfect view of the scene below us. There's always that flipside, though-- they could see us if they turned to see that six nations had infiltrated their base from above. My hand whipped out and gathered a handful of my sister's sleeve before I yanked her off the catwalk, back out of sight. Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, and Florida hid as well so we could figure out what to do next.

"We gotta do something," Jack whispered, nodding to the hordes of agents out there.

Wordlessly, Hong Kong reached into his pocket and produced a bundle of round red sticks with fuses. My face broke out into a grin at the sight of the perfect distraction.

"Those ain't sticks of C4?" Australia asked him, and Hong Kong assured him they were just firecrackers.

"Loud ones. They're very bright," he added. "I made them myself."

Korea laughed under his breath and pulled a lighter from his own pocket. "C'mon, da ze. Let's light 'em up."

We all had lighters, actually, just in case we needed to light a fuse, for instance. Who would have thought we'd actually be doing that, though? Ha! This is going to be fun~

Jack's earpiece crackled with broken words, and he covered it with his hand so the noise wouldn't reach the ears of the people we were hiding from. "What is it?" he asked once he pressed the button on the side.

It was America, and he didn't sound too happy. "Guys, you gotta either get out now or do something to break up the crowds inside-- how the hell are there this many W.O.R.L.D. dudes inside?"

The strange thing was hearing gunfire coming through the connection while simultaneously hearing it in the distance, in real life. The others were still working on getting inside from on the ground, yikes!

Jack relayed the message to the rest of us and added, "We're gonna throw those over them and try to break up their formation, right?"

"Yup," Hong Kong said, pulling the bundle of sticks apart and setting them down on the ground quickly.  With deft hands, he separated them all into groups of two until there were six groups, so one for each of us if we chose to accept this mission.

And oh, we did choose to accept it. Korea snatched up a pile and snickered under his breath.

"Okay, we have to make sure these are spread out over as much of the room as possible," he theorized wisely. I nodded, agreeing completely, and grabbed my own pair of firecrackers.

"We could try and go across the rafters up there," I suggested while pointing up at the ceiling, where the steel criss-crossing beams would definitely be enough support for climbing.

"You would be completely exposed up there," Willow pointed out.

"I'm up for tryin' it," Australia piped up, scooping up his portion of the noisemakers and contemplatively rolling them around between his hands. "But we don't all have to go up there."

Finally, because we were pressed for time and running out of options to bicker over, it was decided that Hong Kong, Korea, and I were going to be climbing up into the rafters because we had the right training for that kind of thing. And hey, I got to kind of be a little monkey-ish, which was super duper!
