Natasha sighed sadly and shook her head. Her red curls bounced around her face, and she looked at me with sympathy.

"We've had problems with them before. All the Avengers already know about HYDRA, so you might as well tell them. They'll understand."

I glanced over to Thor to see that he was practically seething with anger.

Oh no.

"How dare they hurt you." He said, his voice barely above a whisper. From the corner of my eye, I saw Nat tense up at his words. Neither of us knew what he was going to do, but something in my heart warmed when he said that.

I reached for his hands, wanting to comfort him. Nat was watching his every move, worried that he might hurt me in some way.

Boy, was she right.

As soon as my hands touched his, pain exploded through them. It was like a jolt of electricity sent through my entire body. I jerked my hands back, but the feeling left as quickly as it had arrived.

Was that some sort of 'in love' thing? I've heard stories of couples' first touch, and it feeling like sparks exploded. That's.. exactly what just happened.

I mentally face palmed as soon as those thoughts were made present in my mind.

Seriously, Y/N?! He's the god of thunder. Thunder is the sound of lightning, therefore his hands controls that electricity. Depending on his emotions, he can conduct that electricity through his hands. This is SIMPLE LOGIC. Don't go all lovey-dovey.

Natasha quickly grabbed my hands and scanned them for injuries, then glared at Thor. "She's been through a lot, Thor. It would be wonderful  if you didn't shock the poor girl."

He looked up to my face that was slightly shocked, then to his hands. He stared at them, horror washing through all his features.

"Y/N, I'm terribly sorry! I cannot control myself sometimes. I just believe that no one should be allowed to harm someone as precious as yourself. Please, forgive me." Thor said, looking into my eyes again.

A blush coated my cheeks, and I looked for Nat for assistance. She was just smiling at me, and seemed actually happy.

That's new.

"I forgive you Thor. And, I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine. HYDRA can't hurt me anymore, and I'm sure S.H.I.E.L.D is doing everything in their power to stop them." I said, trying to make my voice steady as possible. Bruce often needed calming so that he didn't 'hulk out,' but I realized how terrifying Thor could be if he was angry.

He definitely gave him a run for his money.

"Sorry to interrupt this sweet moment," Nat said, looking between the two of us. "But, Y/N, if you're going to tell everyone tomorrow, you might want to get some sleep." I sighed in response, knowing she was right.

Natasha was always like an older sister for me. She was there when I admitted I needed her, or even when I insisted that I didn't. Once I stepped through the door of the Tower, she was overprotective of me. One day while we were chatting, I asked her why."Because you remind me of myself. You hide your emotions hoping it will intimidate others, but really you're just a kid who wants to live her life and help others in the process."  I smiled, glad to have recalled one of my few happy memories.

As she walked out of my room, she looked over her shoulder with a smile. "Night, Y/N." She passed through the hall, and into her own room, closing the door behind her. Thor decided to do the same, and stood up to leave.

A wave of panic washed over me.

"Thor, wait!" I grabbed his hand, and he paused to look back at me - surprise written all over his face. "What is it, Y/N?" He said. I immediately regretted my decision to speak.

No backing out of this now.

"I- Do you think you could.. stay?"

He smiled at me. That beautiful, brilliant smile. Every time it happened, my heart fluttered in my chest like a psycho butterfly, and I swore the room brightened. "Are you sure, Princess?"

Princess? That's new. Not that I'm complaining..

I nodded slowly. "As you wish." He responded, then crawled under the covers. I did the same, and tried to stay away from him - and moved to one side of the bed.

I shut my eyes and tried to let sleep overwhelm me. It didn't. But what did overwhelm me was an undeniable feeling that something was watching me. Still, I kept my eyes squeezed tight. Suddenly, I something wrap around my waist.

Is that.. Thor?

I still made it seem like I was asleep. I just wanted to enjoy the feeling of being here with him.

He slowly pulled me next to him, and hummed contently. At this point, I was laying on my side faced towards him, and he had an arm wrapped around my waist - pressing me close. He used his other hand to caress my H/C hair. He wasn't asleep, but thought I  was.

Oh. My. God.

I'm definitely not complaining now.

The steady beating of his heart rang in my ears. It calmed me down and I quickly fell asleep, and was peaceful for the first time in years.
