I woke up in Tony's tower, my home. I was in a hospital bed, and glanced down at what I was wearing. A simple blue dress was loosely draped around my thin form. I hadn't eaten anything in days. My feet were bare, and my H/C hair fell on my shoulders.
I tried to sit up, but was held back by restraints on my wrists and ankles. Memories of being tied down and strapped up flooded my mind, and I started to panic. Hot tears started to run down my face, and I screamed in desperation for the only person I felt completely safe around.
"Thor!"
The beautiful blonde god burst through the door. "Y/N? You are okay, it's alright." He said, rushing to my side. "You must breathe, Princess." I took deep gulps of air as he ran his fingers through my hair, trying to calm me down. He knew playing with my hair always worked, and soon, I was calm enough to speak.
"Why am I tied down?" I asked, my voice hoarse from having nothing to eat or drink.
"It is simply a precaution." He answered. "Banner was worried you might be aggressive when you came to. I apologize for not being where when you did. I was tending to business with Ravana."
"I'm pretty sure the 'precaution'," I said, making air quotes. "Only made me more terrified. Seriously, a girl's roped down for three painful days, so what do you do? Obviously, tie the poor thing up again." I huffed in frustration.
A deep chuckle rumbled from his toned chest. "You are quite interesting, Y/N. And very tough, I might add." I tried to shrug him off, but pain exploded through my shoulder. I sucked in air through my clenched teeth.
"Y/N? How are you feeling?"
Another voice joined our conversation. My favorite red-head walked into the room. "Nat!" I said, happily. She smiled at me, and I grinned back. "Seriously, though, how are you?"
"I'm doing wonderful! I just have trouble speaking without having my jaw throb, I have massive bruises on my face from getting punched repeatedly. What else? Oh, yeah, I can hardly move my arm without feeling like it's on fire. My wrists are blistered from being tied up, and I'm actually still strapped down. I still have traces of a concussion, and I haven't eaten or had anything to drink in three days. But, yeah, I'm just peachy."
"We're so sorry, Y/N." Steve said, coming in the room. I gave him a look, then I focused my eyes on the door. "Are all of you just waiting in a line out there to come in?" I called. I wasn't very surprised when the last four of my friends shuffled in - single file.
"Maybe we were." Clint said, grinning. "We didn't want to overwhelm you, kiddo." Tony said. Pepper, ignoring his comment about overwhelming me, rushed over to me - shooing Thor out of the way. "Y/N, hon, I'm so sorry. And I wanted to come, but-" Pepper started, as she looked at me with guilt written all over her face.
"Pep, stop. It's okay - I'm fine." I said, cutting her off. She smiled at me, and sat in a chair further away from my bed so that I would have space. Everyone else sat down next to her, while Bruce tended to one of the many machines that I was hooked up to.
"I really wanted to beat up that guy, though. I can't believe Nat let him go." Clint said, disappointment flowing through his voice. I smiled at him, even though it made my jaw ache. "Bruce," I said, causing the genius to turn around. "If you don't get me out of these restraints within the thirty seconds, I will unleash Natasha on you." A mischievous grin found its way onto my face, letting him know I was joking. Nat rolled her eyes at me while Bruce undid the straps that held me down.
I rubbed my wrists, and shot the cables a death glare.
Stupid restraints.
"All jokes aside, though - and I think you know who I'm talking to -" I said, eyeing Tony and Clint. "It baffles me that you still came for me after I told you about.. the real me." I continued, my voice becoming quieter.
All throughout the room, cheery expressions dropped to a mix of seriousness and sadness.
"Y/N. You need to understand that you're important to us. No matter what." Natasha said.
Steve agreed with her, and added, "Yes, and what you did - it wasn't your fault. You were scared, tortured into doing things that you didn't want to. You weren't yourself, but now you are. That's all that matters to us." "Really, kid, we won't leave you hanging." Tony ensured. Pepper nodded in agreement. "Ever. No matter how annoyingly stupid you can be." Clint joked, a wide smile slowly spreading across his face.
I stuck my tongue out at him, and he let out a theatrical gasp. Bruce chimed in, saying, "You're a special person, Y/N. So what if you have a rough history? The rest of us do as well; we understand."
Everyone smiled at me as tears welled in my eyes. "You idiots are too sweet." I muttered, wiping away stray tears that had managed to escape my E/C orbs. My friends laughed at that, the sounds of their voices echoing off the hospital room's walls.
Once the laughter faded, a frightening thought made itself present. "What exactly did you do with Ravana?" I asked. My voice had an edge of fear to it, and Natasha noticed immediately. She answered quickly to stop me from panicking. "We tracked him down, and Thor beat the shit out of him, then took him to a prison on Asgard."
"Language." Tony said, smirking. Steve shot him a glare in response as Thor started to speak. He took one of my hands and looked into my eyes. "He cannot hurt you there, Y/N. No one will hurt you as long as I am here. Never again will you be in pain."
I smiled fondly at him, and managed to keep blush from plaguing my cheeks. He smiled back at me, and his gorgeous ocean eyes twinkled with determination and love.
"They're so cute." Clint whispered to Natasha sitting next to him. She nodded and - using the same quiet tone as Clint - said, "I thought Thor couldn't get any happier, but now that he's met Y/N.. things have changed."
