"Ow.." I groaned, as I scanned the place I had woken up in.
Is this.. a theater?
Looking around, I saw swooping golden arches accenting the peeling navy blue walls. The roof was a domed shape, and the place was huge. Maroon chairs that were coated in dust surrounded a large stage - that I was in the middle of. All sizes of debris littered the floor and stage. Old stage lights were loosely hanging onto the rafters, threatening to fall at any minute.
Tugging at my wrists, I realized I was tied down tightly to a chair similar to the mauve ones surrounding me. The rough material cut into my skin, quickly forming blisters and causing me to wince. From somewhere above me, a blinding spotlight turned on, and I shut my eyes tightly to block out the light that was seemingly inescapable.
"If you think the rope is painful, I've got some bad news for you."
I squinted at the figure that stepped forward, emerging from the shadows. He was big, burly, and wore a black ski-mask that kept most of his facial features from me. I was slightly intimidated, but not really. He looked almost cliche. But one thing confused me.
His voice was familiar.
Suddenly, my heart started racing as the man took a step closer to me. My head pounded and throbbed, and my ears rang loudly.
Danger.
"Where-" The flow of words coming from my mouth were stopped by an intense feeling that blossomed in my cheek. It felt as if fire was spreading rapidly across my face, and burning at my skin.
Did he seriously slap me? That little -
"I don't remember giving you permission to speak." He said calmly. Chills ran down my spine as I remembered the same tone that I was spoken to when I was tortured by HYDRA.
"But to answer your question - you are in a secret location. No one will find you here. And there is no one around to hear you scream." The man said with a twisted smile. He drew a knife out of pocket.
He came closer to me, and traced the tip of the blade around my face. He lightly ran the tip of it over my cheekbones, before resting it on my trembling bottom lip. He tapped it against my mouth as he spoke. "You really are gorgeous. It's a shame that after you're covered in your own blood - you won't be."
In one swift movement, the knife was moved off my lip and pushed deep into my shoulder.
I bit back a scream, and winced - my face contorting in pain. But I quickly cleared my expression of any trace of pain and I willed myself not to look at the damage he'd done. I stared straight into his eyes with a look of pure fury.
"What, you expected a show?" I spat out, glaring at the man.
He glared right back at me, and twisted the knife in my shoulder in response. Immense pain exploded through my entire arm, and I tried to hold back my yell. But it pushed past my teeth and escaped my mouth.
My blood curdling scream echoed through the building, causing the man to grin at me.
*** Natasha's POV ***
"We can't help Y/N if we don't know where Ravana took her." I said, said pacing back and forth, bouncing on my heels.
Ravana had taken Y/N from me. The sweet - yet sarcastic - girl I had taken under my wing. I've always insisted that love is for children. But I literally loved a child. It went against every barrier I had put up, but she weaseled her way into my heart. I taught her how to fight and how to poke fun at Clint. Now, she was gone, and needed me desperately.
*
"People! I figured out a way to pinpoint Y/N's location, get down here!" Tony yelled over the intercom, startling me from my sleep. I rushed to the main room, followed by Thor who was on my floor. I stopped, and glanced into Y/N's room. It was empty, and looked barren without her in it. I forced myself to move past it.
That room won't be empty for long.
Coming to the main room, I was quickly followed through the door by Thor, Bruce, Pepper, Clint and Steve. Once we all filed in, I rushed to the TV, my eyes glued on an image of a pinpoint on a map.
"Where is she?" I asked. "How'd you find her?" Steve questioned. "Tony, we talked about you sleeping. Everyone agreed to discuss this in the morning." Pepper said.
"Okay, too many questions at one time. Pep, I was anxious about finding her. It's already been three days. I'm worried about her, and I'm pretty damn sure that you all are as well. Now, I found her when I realized that she has her phone. I tracked it." Tony responded.
I sighed in relief. I watched as Thor's shoulders relaxed, and Pepper breathed out a 'thank god.' Bruce also sighed, and pulled up another screen on the TV.
"She's in Loew's 46th Street Theater in Brooklyn. It's totally abandoned, but it used to be a really popular place to go in 1927. Supposedly it was beautiful." He showed us a photo that was taken recently, and Steve's eyes flashed in recognition.
"Oh, I know that place! Buck and I used to sneak in there when we were kids. It used to be breathtaking." He said, a tinge of sadness coming through his voice when he recalled happy memories of his old friend. I shot Steve and empathetic smile, and then looked at the photo again. "I wish I had more time to train her on resisting torture." I muttered, while my imagination ran out of control.
"I bet her OCD is going insane in there. You remember that time-" Clint said, trying to lighten up the situation. I smacked the back of his head, interrupting his story. "Ow." He muttered, rubbing the spot where I had hit him. "Not the time, Clint." I responded lowly.
"It does not matter." Thor said, causing all eyes to move to him. "We will save her, and she will soon be taken away safely from that place."
"You couldn't be more right." Tony agreed. He walked over to Pepper and placed a kiss on her forehead. She sighed, knowing that a speech was about to come. "Please don't sigh at me. I just want you to be safe." He said quietly.
They locked eyes, and stared down each other. When Pepper wouldn't give up, Tony tried reasoning with her again. "Look what happened to Y/N. Ravana took her because she loved an Avenger. It could've been you, Pep. If Ravana was out for me, and not Thor, he would've taken you. I can't have that happen."
"Awwwwwww." Clint swooned while he was standing next to me. I kicked him in the shins to get him to shut up. I wanted Pepper to stay as well. She was my best friend - next to Y/N - and I didn't want her getting hurt too. "Ow! What is your deal today?!" Clint whisper yelled at me, and I just put a finger to my my lips in response.
"Alright, fine. I'll stay here."
"Thank you." He planted a kiss on her lips, and she walked out of the frosted door, shooting me a smile on her way out. I smiled back at her as the door closed behind her.
"Jarvis, tell Happy that I want him with Pepper if she leaves the Tower." Tony called to the ceiling. "Yes, sir." The AI responded. "We're going to take the Quin-jet. Wheels up in five." Steve said. I nodded, and everyone else rushed back to their rooms to change.
We're coming, Y/N.
