Hero/villain academyauYou were a villain.
She was a hero.
And you both went to the same school.
A school where the descendants of heroes and villains co-exist to learn how to defeat the other.
What could go wrong with that?
-
Inside the school's garden, you sat alone on the railing of the bridge, a beautifully decorated pond below your feet as you swung them back and forth. Tossing in a few crumbs from the sandwich you were eating into the water, the koi fish happily consumed to their delight. As the bell rang, indicating that morning classes were about to begin, you turned and jumped off the railing and began walking to your class.
You gleefully skipped to your class knowing that it was your favorite, not because of the subject, but because of who was in the class.
Ignoring the dirty looks you received from the soon-to-be-heroes at your enthusiastic behavior, you walked into class and happily sat in your desk waiting for a certain girl to sit next to you any second now.
As the bell rang, Hyejoo walked in just in time, she shyly apologized to the teacher when he scolded her for almost being late.
She shuffled shyly to her desk next to yours and smiled brightly once she saw you. You smiled back naturally making your heart beat a little faster.
"I didn't miss anything right?" She asked.
"I mean...the class did just start you really think we would've done a whole lesson by now?" You chuckled when she rolled her eyes in return.
"Why were you late anyway?" You asked out of curiosity.
"Well, you know, hero stuff I need to catch up on and other training...."
"Mmmhhhmmm...y'know you're a terrible liar, Hyejoo?" She giggled nervously while brushing her hair behind her ears.
"Tell me, where were you, really?" You urged on.
"Ms. Y/L/N, is there something you'd like to share with the class?" You turned towards your teacher before rolling your eyes.
"No," you said flatly.
"Good, I don't want someone like you distracting the school's top hero-"Hyejoo cut him off.
"Mr. Kim that's really not necessary-" which then you cut her off.
"What exactly are you insinuating of me, Mr. Kim," you stood up from your seat while crossing your arms.
Hyejoo sat frozen, not knowing how to intervene in the death stare you and the teacher were lost in.
"What I'm insinuating, Ms. y/l/n is that you're a no-good distraction to this class and our heroes of the future." He snapped back.
Infuriated, you stood up while slamming your hands on the top of the desk angrily making Hyejoo and the others jump in their spots.
"You know what, it's teachers like you that won't end this ongoing cycle of good versus evil or hero versus villain. We didn't ask for this, I didn't ask for this. I didn't ask to be targeted out for who my parents were and what my social status is and I certainly didn't ask for such an inconsiderate asshole of a teacher who generalizes all 'villains' as evil good-for-nothings" You ran out of breath on your last sentence and the entire room went silent.
The teacher looked beyond insulted, everyone knew he was the worst teacher. You were just the first one to confront him about it.
His face contorted into a look of disgust as he went over to you and grabbed you by the arm and started shoving you out of the classroom.
