"So he didn't even show up?" You asked furiously.Jungeun sat on the bench with her head lowered down as she nodded. She wiped her tears, yet another one of her dates had stood her up tonight.
"When are you gonna learn that there are other people who love and care about you!?" You yelled at her.
-
Jungeun shot up from her bed, hearing your voice ring out in the room. She held her chest, clutching it to stop the heavy breathing.
She turned her head to see her new husband resting in the covers with his back facing her, she sighed at the sight and got out of bed.
It's been seven months since you left to pursue acting in America.
To Jungeun it feels like it's been centuries.
She got married to the millionaire.
Her company skyrocketed from there, sales have never been better. But at what cost?
She lost you.
Ever since the day you left there's been a heavy feeling that won't seem to budge no matter what. This feeling accommodated itself in her chest and she finds herself sulking in this feeling whenever she's alone.
She doesn't know what to do with it.
She's tried to see you-well-more like attempted to, her definition of attempt was searching your name on the internet.
Yet, every time she was about to press the search engine on your name, she backed out.
She'd either close all her tabs and toss her phone away, or she shut her laptop immediately and go for a walk.
If she wanted to see you so badly why wouldn't she let herself?
-
You arrived in Los Angeles about a week ago.Everything was still fairly new to you, the way people went about their lives, the different rules you had to follow, it was all just a big mirage.
Your manager was there with you, thankfully, and you both were able to get fairly comfortable.
After a couple of weeks of shooting the film you had overall been cast in by luck, your manager and other soon to be co-stars wanted to celebrate by getting drinks.
You all sat around the table, neon lights flashing, loud music you could feel vibrate your whole body, the smell of weed and alcohol, you felt relaxed seeing everyone enjoying themselves overall.
You stood up to head to the bar and get round-twos for everyone. As you made your way to the bar, the tv screen above caught your eye.
As your curious eyes scanned the screen, you could feel your heart begin to break at the sight.
"-im Jungeun was seen earlier today, a week after her wedding, celebrating her honeymoon in-" you heard ringing in your ears as the different pictures taken by paparazzi flashed on the screen of Jungeun and her new husband enjoying themselves.
You could feel your throat ache as if a cry was trying to escape, maybe even a plea for help.
They showed how happy she was.
Enjoying her new life, with her new significant other.
You felt betrayed.
How could she?
After all the pain she's put you through? Did she even read the letter? Did she even care that you just disappeared from her life?
No, she didn't. It was clear enough as you watched the videos taken of Seol's new power couple.
