Tried writing in a different style today. :) Enjoy!!
Everything is in slow motion.
Your heart pounds loudly, echoing in your ears like a soft lullaby.
The horse beneath you quivers with power and grace,
his labored breathing the only thing you can hear.
Your eyes are narrowed in on the jump in front of you.
You are oblivious to the thousands of eyes watching you.
Everything is quiet.
The colors of the world seem to blur and blend together as you grow near the jump
Your horse gathers himself beneath you as he prepares for take-off.
Your legs mold to the horses body as he launches himself into the air.
Adrenaline runs through your horses body, rippling into your own body as the horse and you become one.
You take a deep breath.
Your horse takes a deep breath.
The horses front feet land on the ground, his body following soon after.
The buzzer goes off.
The dull cheering of the crowd grows louder and louder until it’s almost unbearable.
You look up at the timer and smile.
Your horse neighs his excitement, the sound of the neigh reverberating into your ears.
You pat your horses sweat-covered neck.
Pride washes over you, adrenaline still pulsing into your body, your fingers tingling, your body aching with exhaustion.
You throw your hands into the air in victory.
The crowd erupts into a frenzy of cheering.
You have won.
