Every thing was dark. There was no one but myself in this space.

I was floating in a sea of endless light, where nothing existed except for me.

At least, that's what I thought for the moment.

I was blinded by such a white light, that even when I closed my eyes again, I could still see the white coming through my eyelids.

"Dear child of sun and moon. Open your eyes. Look at me."

The voice that spoke to me was so warm, it wrapped around me like a gentle hug from a loved one.

I did as told, opening my eyes and seeing the white space I was in. When my vision was finally used to the light, I was both confused and surprised by what I saw.

It was almost as tall as me, but just by half a foot. Its bright white eyes staring at me with kindness and warmth that I felt like I was drowning in the deep pools.

It was a white lion.

But I could tell it wasn't my lion.

"Who are you?" I asked, "You're not my lion."

The white lion walked up to me and sat at my feet, continuing to stare at me.

"You are right, dear Zurine. I am not the white lion you have grown to pilot, and yet, I am a part of it."

The lion's mouth didn't move, and yet her words were bouncing through the white space we floated in.

"Then, who are you?" I asked.

"I am a part of the white lion that protects this space from the Dark One. He is going to be coming soon for what I protect."

"What do you protect?"

"A place that possesses knowledge beyond anyone in the universe. This place, is more precious than any gem in the universe. And I stay here to protect it."

I looked around the white space, and feeling the warmth coming from it.

"So this place, what does this has to do with me?"

"You are connected to more things in this universe than you realize."

Suddenly, the once bright space began to bleed black.

"You are waking up, Zurine. Be careful of the Dark One." The lion's voice faded as slowly as the blackness bleeding into the blank space.

"Wait!" I shouted, "Who's the Dark One?"

The lion was silent for a moment, before I heard what she said.

My eyes widened at the bame whispered to me as the space finally bled black.

My eyes closed, the warmth fading and replaced with a heavy pressure.

I was heavy for a moment, before my eyes opened again.

It was dark, only lit up by the soft lights illuminating from my ceiling. I looked around sleepily as I took in my surroundings.

I smiled when I saw Pidge sitting in a chair by my bedside, laying her head on her arms as she slept on my bed from the chair, while Luna was snuggling at the foot of the bed.

Softly chuckling, I sat up slowly then gently shook her shoulder to wake her.

"Pidge, time to wake up." I whispered.

She shuffled in her sleep, mumbling, "Five more minutes, mom."

I chuckled a little louder, "Pidge, it's time to find the group and tell them that I'm awake."
