I stared out happily at the beautiful solar system. I had almost forgotten the amazing feeling of laying eyes on this system.

As we sped closer I never wanted anything more than to see Earth, a place that brought me friends and love.

"I'll see if I can get a message out to my dad." Pidge said excitedly, "Dad, it's me, Pidge. Do you copy? We're back in Earth's solar system, and heading home now."

I listened carefully as a response was given.

"To any being who received this message..." Mr. Holt's voice said through the speakers, rugh and broken from the far signal.

"Dad, you're okay." Pidge said with tears, "How's Mom and Matt? Is he with you?"

"Planet Earth has been... Most of the citizens..."

It was hard to reach Earth from this distance, so Pidge tried to clear the signal. What we heard was heartbreaking and terrifying.

"...have been captured."

"What?" Pidge asked, "Who's captured? Dad, what are you saying?"

"Those of us remaining are making our last stand. If you get this message, please get word to Voltron. We need help."

Keith pulled up a scan of the solar system and opened an open link to the other lions.

"Guys, are you seeing this?"

My heart clenched in fear as the sight of a Galra ship hovering around Earth was shown on our screens.

Mr. Holt continued, telling us about the Galra invasion and the capture of many humans.

"It's not a reply. It's a distress signal." Hunk gasped sadly.

I fell back in my seat. I was shocked. So much so, that I didn't realize anything anyone was saying. And I could only imagine what has happened in the past four years.

Flashback to Four years ago~~~~~~~

Samuel Holt woke up groggily but alert as the door to his room opened. He looked towards the door and saw a high ranking officer in the doorway.

She was a serious woman with a sense of authority surrounding her. Her name was Admiral Sanda.

"Admiral Sanda, how long have I--"

"It's been about a week since you've landed." Sanda said, "Sorry, we've had you under for most of the time."

Samuel looked surprised, "A week?" He asked.

"We had to run tests. You've spent years in an alien environment. Look, An a, the joint Chiefs are eager to hear what you have to tell us."

Sam stood up and stared at the admiral, "Tell the chiefs I'll debrief them when I'm ready. There's someone I need to see first."

He looked around and saw the red box I had given to him before he left right by his feet. He smiled and picked up the box then turned back towards the admiral.

"You didn't do anything to the contents of this box, did you Admiral?" He asked.

Sanda shook her head, "Not a thing. We were unable to open it. What's inside, Sam?"

"Something that belongs to a lot of people. Now, can I see Colleen?"

Sanda nodded and led Sam out to the waiting room, where Sam's wife, Colleen sat patiently in the chair.
