I don't feel like coming up with a title.

Scarlet:

It took me a while to register where I was and what was going on. I didn't know where the scientist people were, but what's more concerning was that there was blood everywhere. What happened? I started walking to the door but stopped and grabbed my head. There was a ring which made my head hurt worse. I didn't remember what happened. 

I heard something behind me but I ignored it. I just wanted to get out of here. I got to the door and grabbed for the doorknob.... at least I thought. There wasn't a doorknob on the door. How do I get out?

I heard the sound again and figured it wouldn't kill me to know what it was. I looked over where the sound coming from and saw the two scientists displayed on the walls. They were hung up by something that was in their mouths. 

The assistant was still alive and shooting a bird at me. Smoke filled the room.

"Get up" was followed by cold water.

I started shivering. 

"What?"

The man grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the cell and threw me against the wall.

"I said get up."

The ringing started again. 

"Hurry up he wants to see you."

"Who?"

"You're not allowed to ask questions."

"Then why are you talking to me?"

He pinned me to the wall with his and around my neck.

"You think this is a game."

"No, but I know you're a joke."

He punched me in the stomach and I crumbled to the floor.

"Now you think I'm a joke?"

"No, just a pussy."

He stumped on my back then kicked me in the face.

"What do you think you're doing?"

A guy with a bird's nose and humpback scurried over to us. He was short and nearly bald. He also had big feet and a cane. 

"She is delicate, she is off-limits to you brutes."

"So she is one of your subjects?"

"Yes now take her to my lab. I want to do tests on her."

He grabbed my arms and lifted me to my feet.

"Wait wait."

He walked over to me and stopped inches from my face. 

"I heard you did horrific things to my apprentice. What a terrible crime, what a one indeed. No worry I'll just have to bring them back."

Bring them back? What was he talking about? The irrelevant guy pushed me. 

"Go on, walk. I'll tell you when to turn and stop."

I did as I was told. I was looking around for an exit. All I saw was an elevator. He took out a key card can swipe it. A few seconds later and the doors opened. 

I need to find a way out. I saw we were on the twenty-sixth floor. He reached to hit the button that said one but before he could I elbowed him in the face. I grabbed my elbow and sucked in air throw my teeth.

I tried to kick him in the balls but he closed his legs. I turned around and almost escaped from the elevator but he grabbed me. I expected him to. I bearly threw him over my shoulder.  he was mostly out of the elevator. I kicked him out then kicked him in the face and throat as hard as I could. He stopped moving so I grabbed his key and went back into the elevator. I pressed floor one. The elevator doors closed and it started moving. 

The door opened. There was a straight shot out. There was no one around. Why was the room empty. I stepped put and the closing of the door scared me. I got to the door but stopped because I heard footsteps. 

I looked down the left hall where the footsteps were coming from. There was one dime light lighting up part of the hall. As they approached the light I saw who it was.

"Joseph?"

I ran up to him and slipped my arms around him. 

"We can leave now. Please, let's go home. I need you to come back with me.

"I need you to stay with me Scarlet."

"What?"

"Lunar isn't what it claims to be. They are dangerous, they will try to kill you if they find out the truth about you."

"What are you saying?"

"They know about your demon. Life is trying to help separate you two."

He ran his thumb over my cheek as he studied the bruises on my face.

"Who did this to you?"

The elevator opened and that guy from earlier stumbled out.

"There you are, you bitch. Oh, so you went to your lover. Get out of my fucking way. She needs to be taught a lesson."

I squeezed Joseph's arm and he let go of me and pushed me behind him. I took a knife from his side pocket and stabbed him.. I think. I didn't see any of it but I heard the other guy struggle then fall to the floor. 

"Did you see Dr. Vladmimir yet?"

"Who?"

"Bird looking guy."

"I saw him in the halls but..."

"Let's go."

"He grabbed my hand and pulled me to the elevator."

"What are you doing."

I tried to pull away but his grip only grew. He turned around and looked at me. There was something dark about his appearance. 

"I'm taking you to him."

"No lets just leave. They aren't trying to help anyone. They are turning everyone into monsters."

"Why do you care what you become. You aren't meant for anything other than serving and killing. You haven't realized it yet but you will become if not the best one of the best assassins here."

"You are not acting like yourself. Let go of me. I leave and come back for you when I can."

"And go to Lunar? Scarlet, I didn't shoot you, Allen did. He knew what you are. They don't want us to have you. But now we do. Now we can win."

"Win what?"

"The war that's coming."

"What are you talking about you aren't making sense."

"You will know in time. Scarlet trust me, please. I would never do anything to hurt you. I care about you, be my shadow."

He cupped my face and placed his forehead on mine. I took in his sent then shook my head. I knew this was a bad move but I wanted to trust him. 

"Ok."
