Chapter 10 -Taylor-

-Taylor's POV-

"Uncle Michel please, wake up!" I say to my unconscious uncle. It's been two months since Jack escaped and they still hadn't caught him yet. Uncle Michel has been in the hospital the entire time and he's been awake twice. Then something would happen and he'd fall into a coma again. I still can't face my family; I barely even talk to any of them, especially Jason, Adam and Finn. I can't face them after their father almost lost his life for me! I've been either locking myself in my room and drawing or here with my uncle. I sit here with him for hours feeling useless and talk to him hoping he's listening. I hadn't gone to school since that day. Avril and Hannah have been helping me with my assignments and they tried to explain to me everything I'm missing but my head is never with them. They never give up though.

"Taylor! I'm afraid visiting hours are over. We have to go home now." Rosie says. I hadn't realized she even came into the room. I get up and follow her out of the room giving my uncle one last look and closing the door gently behind me. When we reach our house I head for my room. I find Zack there sitting on my bed. When I enter he turns around to face me.

"Hey Taylor!" He says.

"Hi Zack. What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I was waiting for you."

"Yeah, why?"

"What? I can't talk to my cousin?"

"Zack, I'm really not in the mood right now!"

"That's the problem! You're never in the mood! You just lock yourself up here and avoid us all! You barely eat anything! You need to get out more! Talk to us! We're your family, Taylor! We're all here for you!"

"What do you want me to do, Zack? Do you want me to go party and laugh while my uncle is in the hospital because of me?"

"Taylor, he's not there because of you!"

"No, you don't understand!...."

"Actually I do, Taylor! Wren called me! Why do you think Uncle Michel wanted you home? Wren told me to keep a closer eye on you because his uncle, Jack, had escaped and he's after you. I was gonna ask him why but he told me to get you home as soon as possible and then call him. So I called Uncle Michel because I was out and I didn't have a ride home."

"What else did Wren tell you?" I ask after a moment of silence.

"He didn't tell me much. Just that Jack needs to keep you silent. He couldn't tell me more than that because he is at the gang's warehouse and maybe someone would hear him. He told me to ask Uncle Michel or Harper's dad. I tried asking Harper's father but he's been busy with the investigation and he couldn't talk to me. I tried asking Harper but he said he couldn't help me and that his father is being secretive about it all."

"Why haven't you told me anything?"

"Because according to Harper you already know! The question here is why haven't you told any of us anything about this? We could protect you! What else do you know? Tell me now!"

I stay silent for a moment and he stares at me.

"Zack, I really don't know anything else!" I say.

"Liar! You're hiding something!"

"I'm not!"

"Yes you are! And I know what it is! It's a dream you had! I heard you screaming that day! My room is the closest to you! You were screaming your parents' names and Ashley's. You also said something about Jack Samuels! I heard it all but I never understood it. So I asked Uncle Michel about it."
