I'm afraid to fall because I know you won't catch me.
Catallina's POV
I can't believe I agreed to do this.
I'm actually here at Diablo's house, more like palace. He had specifically instructed my father I should wear a red wine dress, That's all.
No luggage needed, I just show up with the dress on.
What a chauvinist! What a jerk! Telling me what to wear.
Anyway, I will do whatever I can do for my family. I have to do this because their lives depends on me.
Now that I have seen El Diablo for the first time, without his mask on and he being so close to me just a second ago, I doubt if I hate the idea of being here in the first place.

~One week earlier~
"Catallina," My mother called me just when I thought I had perfectly managed to sneak back into my room.
"Yes Mother." I was almost scared to death when I thought I had seen a Zombie but no it was just my mum with a new organic face mask and her hair tucked inside her bonnet.
The things people do to stay young.
"Where do you think you are going young lady?!" She screamed at my face.
I'm just one meter away from you woman. Jeez.
"My room. Where else?" I replied not hiding my sarcastic nature. I have always been fluent in sarcasm.
If this scene was a cartoon movie, steam would probably come out of her nose and ears.
That would be hilarious.
I chuckled to myself finding it so hard to hide how amusing she would look.
"Do you think this is funny Catallina? It is already midnight. You sneak out and come back at these ungodly hours looking... dirty and smelly. Where were you? No, no, let me guess." She starts to walk back and forth. She was being dramatic as usual.
Of course she knows where I go to.
"Where you in downtown with those poor pathetic people? I heard there was an outbreak of some disease probably because of how unclean they are... Don't tell me you went to waste your degree treating those... those peasants again. Is this what we put you in Cambridge for?" She stops and looks at me with her eyes being as big as saucers.
"Yap" dropping the p intentionally.
And in three... two... one.
"Catallina Rosa Montero!! I forbade you to waste your education with those commoners. If I had known that you would end up doing this I would have never allowed you to go to school. Why can't you just find a proper rich man to marry? You are already twenty-six years old for chris sake! You think you will find a husband in that poor town? NO! The only thing you will catch there is a disease that you will come and infect us with and then we will all get sick and we will all die and it will be your f..."
I zoned out.
We've had this conversation for like a millionth times.
Yes, I am 26 and I still have to put up with this nagging and her controlling behavior.
I'm sneaking out the house as if I'm still a seventeen year old kid. The only difference from me and a teenager is that instead of going out to party with my friends, I volunteer my services to help those who are really in need.
