"So...he was involved...and was going to get me involved too? I would've been exactly where María was?" Camila spoke slowly, trying to register it in her mind.

"...Yes. I don't want to think about it, please. It makes me so angry, baby, I wish I could kill him a hundred times over and over. I can't bare the thought of you ever being in that position and me not having the chance to get you out of it," Lauren was starting to freak out and got way too emotional just thinking about it. For a moment there, it felt like reality.

"Why the hell didn't you tell me?? Call me and talk to me about it?" Camila thought back to Lauren saying she did text her that Alessandro was there, then she also remembered Madison had her phone. If she deleted the text, it wouldn't be surprising.

"I did—"

"Scratch that. I'm just upset that I wasn't there with you. I would've done it myself."

Camila went to the other side of the room with her hand on her forehead, having a difficult time with accepting this was the reality they were dealing with. So much was overwhelming her, she couldn't stop the flooding thoughts that drowned her. Years ago, she liked some famous Italian model that seemed like a good idea but ended up slowly showing his true colours that she should've taken more seriously—the jealousy, the forcing her to give him a blow job and have sex with him. Camila didn't really like to think about that, she knew it had a name for it and she accepted that it happened but it didn't mean she wanted to spend her time feeling sorry for herself. That's just who she was. Dealing with traumatic emotions was super hard for her; even though Camila has gotten better, it would often feel like she's never made any progress at all.

You never truly know the kind of person you sleep next to every night, anyone could just surprise you. And it didn't matter how smart and clever Camila was either, she could have NEVER predicted that. On top of all this mess, she her wedding was a month away. All she wanted was to have fun with her maid of honour and bridesmaids, and that was all taken from her. The countdown to a wedding was supposed to be great and a little stressful, but not THIS kind of stressful. It was wrong to feel this selfish and upset over María not being in the best shape—not even to travel out of country for her wedding—and it was even more selfish to try and make this all about her. Camila stopped thinking and started feeling more. This time wasn't good.

"Baby?" Lauren called out softly.

"Yes, Lauren?" Camila sighed, not turning to face her. She was a little in shock still.

"Can we just forget about it and move on? Acknowledge that it happened but never talk about it again?" Lauren wanted that so badly. She'll deal with the PTSD quietly and smoke some CBD or something, but to go on living this way was hurting her. If she continued entertainting these fantasies, she'd go on a murdering spree. The fact that she was even craving to was even more dangerous than Camila's episode that creeped up on her.

"You know...every time I think everything is good and we're happy, something tragic happens. Every time things are going well for my friends, something tragic happens. Tragedy every fucking where, we might as well not even have a wedding in Paris and just get married in a courthouse and call it a year. Right?" Camila snapped unexpectedly, Lauren was confused. How did she jump from Alessandro to her wedding?

"Baby, what? Where is this coming from and why are you making this—"

"Because God forbid we fly out and the plane explodes or something! This was supposed to be MY year, MY time, MY happiness and it's all ruined. Nothing is going right, everybody is so fucking sad, I'm sick of it! I mean, christ! Can't everyone just suck it up and move forward?? Fuck!!" Camila groaned, throwing a tantrum in the middle of the room.
