I did not know what to say and I did not know what to do. It appeared that the threatening messages were going to continue, the words on them becoming worse each time and the nature of them becoming worse also. It had gotten to the point where I was stood before the third of them sprawled in blood across the wall.
The air was silent and minutes passed as Harry and I contemplated what to do. I eventually spoke and Harry appeared surprised I had done so, "Where's the cleaning supplies?"
He looked at me oddly, "What? Why?"
"To get this wall cleaned up obviously."
He hesitated but eventually responded to me. "I'll show you," he spoke and lead me out of the room and down the corridor a few doors to a small cupboard.
"Here." He pulled out a bucket and a cloth, passing the cloth to me and taking the bucket himself.
"Wait in the office, I'll just go and fill this with some water," he instructed and I did as said.
I had been waiting back in the office mere moments before he returned with a full bucket of soapy water and a scowl.
"Give me the cloth," he spoke. As I gave it to him, he dipped it in the soapy water and rung it out. He strode to the wall and ran the material over it, drops of water falling to the ground.
"How did they even get this on here?" I processed my thoughts out loud.
Harry sighed as he scrubbed at the substance, "I don't know. In a way I don't want to."
"Maybe it's the blood from the man in that video," I suggested as I begun to wonder whose blood it could be. The idea may be far fetched but it didn't seem all that unreasonable.
"No it's not," Harry answered confidently.
"How would you know?"
He let out a big sigh. "That video was fake."
Fake? "What?"
His actions ceased and he turned from the wall to look at me instead. "It was a staged film, they do stuff like that all the time, makes the threat more real if you know what I mean?"
"Oh," I simply responded.
"Yeah." He nodded his head. "That doesn't mean that wouldn't happen if it were real though, you know the consequences Felicity. You knew them before we saw that video."
"I know," I spoke bitterly knowing it was his anguish towards me that meant he felt the need to remind me that I 'knew the consequences before the video.'
He continued trying to scrub at the wall but the blood was drying and he was struggling to get it off. Eventually, after an aggressive few attempts, he gave up. He threw the cloth down and tugged at his hair. "Fuck!" he yelled.
I rushed toward him, taking the cloth from the floor. "It's okay, Har- Mr Styles," I corrected myself remembering our earlier conversation. "Let me try," I offered.
He looked at me helplessly, before nodding. His body was slumped on the floor, his knees up to his chest and his head in his hands.
I did not speak to him for a while deciding it was best to just leave him be. So, I took the cloth and I attempted to get the bloody writing off of the wall myself.
It took a long time, but I just about managed to eventually get rid of the it. I threw the cloth to the floor and sighed as I sat next to Harry. He had moved so he was sat up straight, his head no longer in his hands.
"Thanks," he whispered before asking, "Are you okay?"
"No, but I'm sure you don't care anyway, do you... Mr Styles?" I spoke maybe a little too harshly but his attitude had been annoying me.
"You know that's not true," he muttered. "And it was you who told me we should stop, so I'm sorry for doing what I'm supposed to."
"Doesn't mean you have to act so arrogant."
He sighed, "Let's just worry about the bigger problem for now, yeah?"
I nodded in agreement. "Mya spoke to me in the Labour Room," I changed the subject. "She still wants our help."
"For rebellion?" he asked, "I'm surprised you're still hung up on that. I thought you wanted to be careful."
"Harry, let it drop." I rolled my eyes. "But, truth be told I'm not sure anymore."
"Why?"
"I just think it's far fetched for her to believe it'll actually work."
Harry looked thoughtful for a moment, "But doesn't the fact that you're still seeing these threatening messages want you to rebel?"
I considered his words. I guess he was right, it should spur my anger and my desire to win against these people. "You're right," I spoke.
"I always am," he teased. "Come on, let's go down and talk to her about it."
"Alright," I agreed.
So, we did just that and I followed Harry down to the Labour Room, an almost common occurrence now. Mya was pleased to see him, and proceeded to explain to him the plan that she had told me already.
"Do you realise how suspicious all this will look Mya?" he asked her.
"It's worth a try," she replied defensively.
"Yeah until we're caught and being beaten up because of it."
"Look Mr Styles, you said you'd help us don't back out now."
"Don't tell me what to do," he scolded. "I will help but if this doesn't work, I'm blaming it on you."
"Fine," she shrugged.
"When are you going to do it?"
She looked to the other girls around her and they nodded to one another, Harry looked to me in confusion but returned his gaze back to Mya. "Well?" he pressed.
"October 4th."
"No," Harry was quick to protest.
"But-" Mya argued.
"No, think of a different day. I'm leaving," he huffed and strode out of the room.
Ignoring Mya's reaction, I hurried behind him and when he entered into the office I caught his attention. "What was that about?" I asked.
He frowned, "That's the day after the wedding."
"What?"
"The wedding, it's on October the 3rd."
"Oh," I replied.
"Yeah."
"Um, why does that stop us rebelling the day after?"
"Because I'm getting married. It just doesn't sit right. And Mya just seems untrustworthy."
"It could work to our advantage, everyone will be in high spirits with the wedding meaning that it could be easier to rebel."
"I don't know Felicity."
"As for Mya, I think she's fine. Just eager to do this that's all."
"I suppose," he spoke beginning to come around.
"So you'll help?"
"Yes but I'm doing this for you," he admitted. "I hope you know that."
I blushed and nodded, "I do."
