Tsume’s P.O.V.
“H-hey! Sir Tsume, Sir Ryu… Look!” Shiori called out, pointing at a boat approaching the shore. She pulled her cloak tighter around her to keep warm as she went and stood at the outermost part of the land, waving her arms. She was extremely happy to be seeing Ayamei again.
On the grassy cliff, Ryu and I were mounted upon our gallant steeds. They stood tall, their strong muscular legs stiff against the ground almost as if they were posing with their chests puffed out. “…Ryu.”
“Yeah?”
“Both of the gifts belong to them, right? We’re not keeping one of the two?”
“Hell no we’re not keeping one. She’d kill us,” Ryu laughed. “She’s gonna piss herself when she sees ‘em, though. I’ll admit, though… I’m stil not keen on keeping the human at the manor.”
“He can be trusted, Ryu. I know so.” I reached forward and rubbed my steed’s neck. “Well, Yuuki… She’s home. You better give her a nice welcome; she’s lost a lot,” I spoke into the equine’s ear. “Ryu… She’s home.”
“Yeah. She’s finally home.”
Normal P.O.V.
“Susumu, look…!” She pointed at the three waving specs that stood on the land overlooking the boat’s destination. “They’re there… They’re waiting for us.” I, ignoring any orders barked at me by the crewmen, made my way to the very front of the ship. Every inch closer that we got, my heart jumped higher. Susumu followed me, smiling widely.
“You’re home, Ayamei.”
As soon as that boat hit the unloading area, I headed for the easiest way off. Yamazaki had a hard time keeping up with me, but he managed to catch up at keep a grip on me as we hopped off the vessel. We headed up the steep hill together and it was only then that he let go of me.
I lunged myself at my cousins, leaping at Tsume to hug him. He hugged back, spinning me around a few times. Setting me down was pointless; I did the same thing for Ryu. Ryu just held me tightly and, despite his effort to hide it, I could feel him shaking. Shiori waited patiently for her turn, but she did get it. I hugged her and inquired about how she was doing. Of course, she said she was doing well but it was better that I was back.
“Guys… I really missed all of you.”
Yamazaki stepped up next to me, finally, as he hadn’t bothered to run after me once he let go of my hand. He got some odd stares, but he took it like a pro, honestly. He didn’t mind Ryu’s judgmental staring. “It’s a pleasure to see both of you.”
“Welcome,” Tsume spoke gently and warmly. “We can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done to keep her safe.”
“He’s right. Who the hell knows where she’d be if it weren’t for you? Might not even be alive, if you think about it. We’ve had our hardships, but… Thanks,” Ryu let out a sigh.
“It was my pleasure,” Yamazaki spoke back as respectfully as he possibly could.
“I know that it’s rather tempting to sit and chatter, but… I’d like to get back. We’ve got a gift for the two of you. Or one of you, depending on the outcome…” Tsume leapt off of his horse and onto Ryu’s. “Ayamei, you and your friend can take Yuuki. She’s happy to see you; she won’t mind two people on her back. Shiori has some things to tend to in town, so we’ll see her a bit later.”
