Ayumi's P.O.V
I heard something coming from the right side of me, and looked to see what it was. How stupid of me to stop right in the middle of the road. But that was only the start of it.
I was frozen, like a deer caught in headlights. In fact, I probably was going to be one of those poor roadkill deer in a second. A truck, coming at fifty miles or so, was heading straight toward me, and It wasn't stopping. The driver didn't even notice me... He was texting on his phone! But here I was, stuck here, and he couldn't even stop it.
I was so dead. At least I'd get to join my friends...
I was ready to die, I was already in peace, when I felt a painful shove come at me from behind. I turned around just in time to see who it was. Kishinuma had pushed me out of the way, and now HE was the one in front of the truck. My eyes widened, as the driver finally noticed he was about to hit somebody, but it was too late when he slammed on the brake.
Crimson blood was now soaking the road. Kishinuma's blood... He was in the middle of the road, sent back by the truck's heavy force. He... just did that? And it was my fault. Another one was dead, because of one of my stupid mistakes.
A few people had ran out of the car to see if he was alright, someone was calling 911, and I was stuck here. Why... Why?!
It seemed like time had slowed down as people rushed to see if I was okay. My hands were scraped. That seemed like nothing compared to Kishinuma. People were looking away, something I would like to do.
The right side of his head had been cracked open, so badly the skull was in shards on the ground, exposing the brain. People were blocking the rest of him, but with so much blood, I knew there was more. Then I noticed something.
His jacket was right beisde me, probably thrown at me when he pushed me by mistake. Mochida-chan's blood was only on the sleeve, and it wasn't a lot. Probably because most of it was getting soaked into her smock. I reached for it with a shaky hand, and hugged it tightly. It felt like forever since we were in Heavenly Host, when he had put his jacket on my shoulders.
I didn't care tears were spilling all over his jacket. I was too busy trying to find out why I felt like I had been hit by the truck. When I saw Morishige's dead body, I felt crushed. But not this bad. He was just my friend... Why did I care this much? Why had Mochida been out of my mind until now? I couldn't find the answer.
A paramedic walked up to me, and she looked concerned.
"Honey, are you okay? Somebody told me that you had scraped your hand. I'll bandage that up for you." She asked, talking like I was a child. I shook my head frantically.
"N-NO! Go help him!" I aruged. She forcefully grabbed my hands and wrapped a bandage around them, and pulled me up. I was still clutching his jacket as if it was my life line.
"What's his name? I can't find an ID anywhere. We need to alert his family..."
"There's nobody to tell. He lives on his own..." I swallowed back the lump so I could talk. "His name is Kishinuma Yoshiki."
"Thank you. You head home now, we'll get him sorted out. Don't worry, he's alive." She muttered a 'just barely' under her breath. I shook my head once again. I was not going to wait at home to see if Kishinuma was ever going to wake up.
"I'm coming." I walked past her, purposely bumping into her. I hurried over to the ambulance where Kishinuma was getting loaded. I pushed my way inside, ignoring the people saying I had to leave. The paramedic who had spoke to me earlier explained, but I drowned it all out. All I could do was stare at him.
                              This was all my fault...
Why not? Nobody told me I couldn't do this!
                              Hope you enjoyed... :P
