Yoshiki's P.O.V
Everything was dark as I felt the impact hit me. I didn't regret it. Shinozaki was safe, my deed was done. It happened too quick for me to feel pain, which made it even better. Now I'm dead...
Wait...
I'm not dead. Well, crap.
I open my eyes to see a bleach white ceiling, and hear muffled talking. My ears were ringing, and I couldn't hear what they were saying. Whoever 'they' were, anyways. It was slowly becoming eligible, but I didn't care to what they said. I didn't even know who it was. It could've been doctors for all I knew.
"... you tell us what happened, Shinozaki?" Satoshi sounded angry. She was here? His voice started to raise.
"You're the one who called us here, you just told us to come to the hospital, TO SEE YOSHIKI WITH HIS HEAD CRACKED OPEN AND BARELY ALIVE?! TELL US WHY!" He demanded. All I heard was a familiar 'hic' after that.
"Keep it down, will you?" I muttered. Nakashima gasped, and the silent sobbing stopped.
"YOSHIKI-SAN!" Mochida-chan squealed happily. I couldn't see her, because if my head was cracked open, I wanted to avoid moving. But I had a feeling she was jumping up and down.
"K-Kishinuma..." Shinozaki whispered, her voice muffled.
"Can you tell us what happened? Class rep won't." Satoshi asked. I didn't know whether to answer or not.
"I... got hit by a truck?"
"... Why did you get hit by a truck?"
"By getting in the way of the truck while he was texting."
"I guess they've sworn to secrecy." Nakashima sighed. I heard a door open.
"We need everyone out. We have to do some tests." A doctor ordered. I whispered a 'bye' as they all shuffled out. "... Including you, Ms. Shinozaki."
I didn't hear her go.
"I don't mind her in here." I heard the doctor sigh, and without another word, he left the room. Had he just wanted everyone to leave, since they were getting loud? I didn't really know. I tried moving my head towards where I guessed Shinozaki was, and it mostly worked. It just really hurt. She (thankfully) was in the direction I had turned to. "Hey."
"I'm so sorry!" She cried, falling off the chair and onto her knees on the floor, her head hung low. She was clutching my jacket. She started to sob. "It's... all my fault! First... I drove us all through that Hell, being the gullible bitch that I am, and now... Now your leg is broken and you have a concussion because I couldn't look before I crossed the street... I'm sorry..."
"It ISN'T your fault. You didn't know the charm instructions were wrong, you just wanted us all to be friends. The driver was texting, he's probably been arrested, and you had every reason to think crossing was safe." I argued back softly, coughing a little. So my leg was broken, too?
"And to make it all worse... Mo-- never mind..." She stopped herself from saying whatever she was saying. "The doctors said... you were lucky to come out with these wounds... They think you tried to get out of the way, but bounced off..." She changed the subject rather abruptly.
"I thought all my luck had run out." I laughed lightly. I heard her cough out a giggle.
"Why did you push me out of the way...?" She asked.
"Isn't it obvious? To save your life..." She looked up at me, her eyes puffy from crying.
"Oh, okay." Her face was like an open book, and I knew that wasn't the real answer. She was lying through her teeth. "They'll let you out in two days... I'm going home, Hinoe is waiting for me..."
She left, gone in second. I didn't even get to say 'goodbye'.
How you people like so far :3
